    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Wasn’t wowed at first and had no interests in buying more. Like many Pease blends, after you smoke them a bit they really grow on you. If you like Perique and Latakia, go for it. It’s also strong on nicotine.

HU Tobacco Coming to the States

I’ve heard the Hu blends aren’t weren’t what they were 20 years ago, but Kopp is reknown for changes. I’ve heard from a reliable source that they are using way less Perique and subbing red Virginia for orange. Less Perique isn’t a positive one in my book, but that’s the way of business as it’s...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

2024 Penzance. I don’t believe that Germain’s/Esoterica is doing their tin aging anymore. Their paper doilies aren’t stained brown in any of the current iterations I’ve opened like they should be. This is a good blend that I feel would be better with age. The very mild casing doesn’t overpower...

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

2024 latest production Penzance. This stuff is quite tasty. The casing is very mild and doesn’t sublimate the tobaccos in anyway. It’s a very harmonious, unique blend. I can see the appeal of it, but have other favorites. This is my first time trying it so I have no way to compare to past...

    Penzance Available Again in Alabama

I am not going to disclose that information out of respect for local customers.

    Penzance Available Again in Alabama

As a huge fan of Latakia, I feel like I’m going to rather enjoy it. I wonder how many years they let their blends sit in their tins? It must be well over three years due to the coloration of the paper unless that’s from a casing. Looks very much like good age. I love the English treacle, plums...

    Penzance Available Again in Alabama

No problem. I’ve noticed a few B&Ms from browsing the web have had their drops as well. Very happy to see Penzance and Stonehaven back.

    Penzance Available Again in Alabama

Yes it did and I never wrote Alabama. Something screwy is going on with the mods when the caps got edited. And for what it’s worth, the Penzance and Stonehaven will of course still likely be hard to get because it was only a hand full of tins and they went very quickly. I was only able to snag...

    Penzance Available Again in Alabama

Title edited to add caps and location. New round tin Penzance among the latest drop at my local B&M. There was even a small amount of Stonehaven. I’ll report back on how it is soon.

    Are Tobacco Toppings Natural?

Both natural and artificial. It depends on the company. C&D prides themselves on using natural ingredients. For example, for the blend Corncob Pipe and a Button Nose, they melted marshmallows down in high proof vodka and added cocoa for the flavoring. Most of the time with blends like Englishes...

    Carolina Red Flake 2024

I missed both the Red Flake and the Perique. There will be more released correct?

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

2015 Quiet Nights with my favorite Marzen. This blend is sublime. The red Virginias really sing making it vinegary sweet. Happy Sunday everyone.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Old Dark Fired in a Northern Briars. Maple sugary, vinegary, sweet aged Virginias with aged Kentucky. It comes with plume even in a fresh tin, staying true to the Old Dark Fired name. I hope they never change that. Sweet and satisfying. This has gotta be one of the smoothest Kentucky blends.
