What was your first blend and is it part of your current rotation?
Yes, GH Bob’s Chocolate and McConnell’s Oriental blend are still in my rotation. They are the more advanced blends of what I started on and I didn’t care for them as much as I do now though.- hoipolloiglasgow

Why Buy Tins?
For a new pipe smoker as yourself though, I say buy as many bulk options that peak your interests and save your money. It may take many blends to find a few that really speak to your rotation. Don’t be scared of a few tins though…many of my favorites are tin only.- hoipolloiglasgow

Too many blends that aren’t available in bulk are available in tins. Also, tins hold up in value and in age with little upkeep. 2017 Skiff in my little group 2. The wonderful Turkish in this blend is what makes it so special. There is a slight unflavored soda note to them. This is one rich and mellow smoke. Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the States.- hoipolloiglasgow

Merde Cheval. This is a great red Virginia forward English blend. They add a great maple syrupy sweetness to the burleys. The Latakia is almost always there with some light Perique. Changes in GH twists
This. Not that STG blends suck, they just would ruin Gawith and their way. I can say for sure that 2017 Skiff is completely different than what has been the past 3 years. There is a different casing and tobaccos. None the less, both are great Englishes. Glad they’re still around.- hoipolloiglasgow
