    Dark Flake: Dunhill...Peterson?

I have yet to see Peterson Dark flake issued but TobaccoReviews has it under Peterson and not Dunhill. Have I missed something? Also, wondering what thoughts are on this blend. I smoked a tin but don’t remember anything about it.

Edward G Robinson Plastic Tub Long-term Storage

Anyone know how EGR does in the plastic tubs for long term? Wondering if I would need to repackage it if I pick some up.

Orlik Golden Sliced Fresh vs. Aged

In 21 years of pipe smoking I have somehow never tried OGS until now. I really love it! I smoked it from a fresh tin and am wondering how it holds up with some age. I'm not really looking to age it but to cellar it without it losing the characteristics that I enjoy, particularly the citrus...

First Taste Of Sutliff Edward G Robinson

This blend has been mentioned so many times that I finally broke down and ordered a tin. Cracked it open and was pleased by the subtle plummy tin note, the almost perfect tin moisture, easy to pack cut and the colorful array of tobacco including a smidgen of black - not cavendish, but Latakia...

    Doctor Fills

Coming off of a recent thread - I hate fills. Some pipes are more fill than pipe! That said, it got me think about these pipes I have waiting to get rid of that have many fills. This one Hollycourt pipe that is a really cool panel Dublin with some decent grain has half a dozen fills on the back...

    Longchamps Pipes

I figured that since this topic has come up a bit lately I’d start a thread. Post pics of you Longchamps or other leather-covered pipes or share related info. I have one Longchamps meer-lined billiard with a stinger that belonged to my grandfather. I’m cleaning it up now and will post a pic when...

Perfection And Rum - A Perfect Pairing

I’ve been appreciating Samuel Gawith Perfection lately. I’ve only had 3 bowls but each one is better. They say there is some vanilla in there but I don’t always get it - an occasional hint. Today I had it alongside some 12yr Zaya rum. Wow, they really go well together. The vanilla notes in the...

To Falcon or Not To Falcon

I’ve been contemplating picking up a Falcon. I have plenty of pipes but... Falcons seem to have a strong following. Can you share why you love your Falcons? What would you recommend for an experienced pipe smoker? New vs vintage? Anything else I should know? Many thanks!

Spotted At Edleez Tobacco, Albany, NY

Stopped in at Edleez in Albany. Picked up a tin of C&D Dreams of Kadath and 2 tins of Sutliff Cringle Flake 2020. They had a few things that others might be in search of including Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky, some Samuel Gawith English blends, Savinelli balsa filters and Peter Stockebye Amsterdam...

    Favorite Wilke Blends

Looking to order a 4 blend sampler including the 2 Lizzie Blood blends. Any recommendations? Open to most things but not so much heavy aros.

    Tobacco Bingo

Like most of you, I spend some time looking around to see who has the blends I want in stock. These days I can never seem to find one retailer that has enough of the blends I want to make a purchase worth while. This one has that blend, that one has this blend. Forget it. I’ll just pull...

    Zippo Butane Pipe Inserts

Anyone have any to recommend? I found a thread from 2015 that seems to say not but haven’t seen much recently. I love my Zappos but like the convenience of butane, especially when I’m not suing them all the time.

    GL Pease Oriental Blends

TR lists 4 oriental blends for GLP: Cairo, Embarcadero, Regents Flake and Temple Bar. Tried Cairo many years ago and don’t have a strong recollection. Just cracked a 13y/o tin of Embarcadero and smoked my first bowl yesterday. I really enjoy it but it was a bit mild for me. I’m wondering how...

    Sergey Cherepanov Blowfish

Picked up this beautiful Sergey Cherepanov Blowfish unsmoked from @pipestud this weekend. Arrived today. As always, Steve has a fantastic selection and this one came to me at an amazing price. One thing I find intriguing about this pipe is that it’s actually somewhat sinuous and asymmetrical...

To Band Or Not To Band

I have a Charatan Executive estate pipe that I picked up know that there was a hairline crack in the shank. The crack is so fine that it’s really not visible unless you know exactly where to look. I had to use a loupe to find it originally and the photo below is 5x then zoomed more. The crack...

    Inventory Control

Some etailers are great at inventory control. They tell you how many are in stock or at least tell you when you’ve exceeded the quantity on hand. I have less faith in others so I decided to push it a bit to see what would happen...??? Thanks

    Winter Stem Fit

Anyone one else in cold climates have difficulty with stems being too tight in the winter? I’m guessing it’s the dryness. Other than humidifying the house any possible solutions? Sanding the tenon is not a good long term solution considering it may well go the opposite direction in the summer...
