Filter Or No Filter?
I don't usually use a filter in my pipes that accept them, but when I do use one I use the balsa wood. I put the balsa in the pipe and take it out after the pipe has pretty much cooled down. Rim Charring
Try to always use a "soft flame" lighter, or a stick match. Avoid using a "Torch" lighter. Other than that, I believe all the previous posts have been outstanding recommendations!- huckleberry

Lots Of Open Tins
I have probably, 75+ jars, from 1/2 Pint, which will hold 2 oz of Tobaccy, to 1 gallon jars, which will hold 1.25 lb. of tobaccy....all depending on the cut of the blend. I do have them labeled pretty good so I know what they are, but there are a few "unknowns." Maybe I'll get it straightened...- huckleberry
