    Retrohale And Aroma

I don't know if this idea will help anyone "learn" to retro hale, but as I think about it, If I concentrate on what I'm doing while retro haling, I find I'm doing something like this. First I make sure I have my lungs about half full of room air before I start the retrohale. Then I draw a...

    Down at the Heel!

I guess I'm the worlds worst pipe smoker. I maybe smoke a bowl down to any resemblance of complete ash maybe once or twice a year! I usually relight at least 4 or 5 times a bowl, and sometimes I let my tobaccy dry out a little before I pack my bowl, and sometimes I don't. Regardless of how I...

    Deertongue, Anyone?

I've never tried deer tongue, but I'll try anything once....well, not ANYTHING...I know what some of you were thinking!!! nnnn It helps with tongue bite, and has a slight vanilla taste so it can't be that bad....

Any Interest In a Box Pass?

I'll be watching this post as it should be a worthwhile project if all goes as planned. If you are accepting 'Baccy and things allowable per rules....I can contribute some...I'm just not participating.

    Local Tobacco Shop

I feel a pretty lucky to have a couple pipe and cigar shops about 20 minutes from my house. I buy local as much as possible, and yeah, it may cost a few bucks more, but they only cost a few dollars, (No more than $5 a tin) more. One of the shops has been around for as long as I can remember...

    Seasonal Pipe Switch

I guess I pretty much don't have a seasonal routine, as I have such a wide variety all through the year. The only difference I really notice is I seem to enjoy the "Seasonal" tobacco blends around Christmas, but I always attributed that to the Holiday and cold weather.

Rationalizing Spending A Lot On A Pipe?

@geopiper nice pipe! All of the pipes I have, cost me under $100, except 2 and those were around $150. I could afford to spend more, I guess, if I HAD to. I'm just glad my taste runs a little more on the inexpensive side as I have a habit of buying a lot of 'baccy My wife just tells me often...

    Esoterica Tobacciana - Dorchester Thoughts

I've never tried any of the Esoterica blends, and given the opportunity to try them in the $30-$40 price range would not scare me away. I've wanted to try some Penzance for a while... Besides, I can blow $100 on a nice meal, and a couple Scotch on the rocks, and not feel bad about it at all...

    Pipe Bits Necessary?

I use some of the softee bits on some of my pipes, but when I want something with a little less of a "spongy" feel to it I use a bit of Shrink Tubing. You can make it any length, color, or thickness, as you can double it up to make it thicker. Sometimes I prefer it to the softees because of the...

    First Smoke Post-Pneumonia

@Ryan, Glad you are on the mend....I prefer my 'baccy on the dry side also. I like to load my pipe the night before I smoke it when I can. It could be my imagination, but it seems to me I get more flavor and a better burning bowl with a little extra drying time. :sher:

What is Appealing about Pipe Smoking?

I don't really know why I enjoy smoking a pipe...... I just do it because I LIKE it, and it makes my Psychiatrist happy!! rotf

Show Me Pipe Rack / Storage Options

The last time I checked on the soda crates, you had to order them from Michael's online. They had them, just not stocked in the stores. The jars I use in the soda crate are the 8 and 12 ounce "Jelly" Jars. The 12 ounce are just a little taller than the 8 ounce, but fit perfectly in the crate.
