    Microplastic.

Oh happy days, aged 15 or so, cutting up big sheets of blue asbestos with a circular saw, illicit cigarette hanging from my jaw and clouds of asbestos dust swirling all about.

    Feedback Loop Disintegration, Anyone?

There is an argument, and you hit upon it here, that it is not critical thinking that's important, but clear thinking. Clarity of thought. Critical thinking might be part of the pathway to clarity, but clear unadulterated understanding is the goal.

    Low Nicotine pipe tobacco

I was quoting the quoted text. Ling is the traditional name for the heather which blooms across the Scottish Highlands.

    Another Couple of Questions

But their F/T mouthpieces have the best "get out of the way"-ness in my experience. A couple of Peterson Princes come close.

    Low Nicotine pipe tobacco

    Yes. In the lings!

    Feedback Loop Disintegration, Anyone?

Then throw in Digital ID, a single identifier for authentication to all systems, and everything will be lovely! These people are sprinting with their pants round their ankles. The desperate, unseemly hurry to some invisible deadline, chunks flying off the faster they go. I'm just hanging in...

    Dunhill ftw.

    Another Couple of Questions

Although some love them, I consider p-lip mouthpieces an abomination, flat fishtails being my strong preference. I smoke some filter pipes without filters; this turns them into a kind of reverse calabash and enhances flavour.

    Low Nicotine pipe tobacco

Maybe acclimatise with Five Brothers for a week?

    Processing "CAKE" tobacco for smoking

Is there a cake version of St James Plug?

    Opening Tobacco Tins

Kilner jars; there are screw top and basket/rubber seal types. All good hardware stores.

    New Samuel Gawith tins

I like the hard vacuum now adopted by Gawiths; careful opening with a pipe knife can keep the deformation to the lid to a minimum and it can be straightened out adequately for reseal. I keep some of these tins in use to refill from jars; the tobacco keeps perfectly well for the time it takes me...

    Gawith Flakes

Gawith Louisiana (Chocolate) Flake is still big, thick and chocolate laden - it's a very good smoke, that choc/perique thing is moreish. I think the Lakeland sauces in general were toned down when the company was reorganised, although a tin of "jogged elbow" escapes from time to time.

    Looking for stingers

Surely Saint Claude must be awash with them? Their various makers seem to love making pipes with them and I imagine they would be the first port of call for spares and replacements.

    Nasal Snuff in USA?

I have Jip. In hospital. Might persuade my brother to bring some McChrystals Aztec, chocolate for the night. The tin of Jip has sat on my bedside table here for days, the medics haven't any idea what it is.

    Straight From The Tin

Mos I find that most blends are stuff and puff, but I'm coarse like that. What I find is that many like to rest a couple of days after opening the tin, particularly the C&D imports; the flavours coalesce although they are smokeable right away. SG Squadron Leader, Skiff Mixture and Commonwealth...

    Straight From The Tin

Sadly, HU blends are not available in the UK. Three Nuns is available and still quite a palatable smoke, Rattray's HotW and OG sell out fast after a drop from Germany. St. Bruno is still available over the counter in some supermarkets. Plenty of blends online.

    New vs Cellared Tobacco

Some things are great fresh, some are great aged, some are equally great fresh or aged (but different). That's the journey and a pleasant one it has been.
