    As Good as It Gets

WV Smoke Shop had a tiny amount of Plumcake left last week, but it was sniped from my cart before I could pull the trigger. RIP.

    We Have a Saint.

I'm very happy to see that the TinySaints folks have not succumbed to historical revisionism. I may get one of these to attach to my pipe go-bag:

    We Have a Saint.

But that also means that he won't get celebrated in the USA (unless the observance is transferred), as the ordo for the USA indicates that we commemorate Independence Day with its proper prayers and preface. (Yeah, I know, that's liturgy geek-level talk, but I embrace my geekdom!)

What Is With Petersons Using P-Lips For All Their New Releases?

My Subaru Legacy has those clutchless flippy paddles, but I've only tried them once or twice as most of my driving is puttering about my small-ish city. I need to break it open on the bypass highway sometime to figure it out.

What Is With Petersons Using P-Lips For All Their New Releases?

A Peterson System without a P-Lip is like a Maserati or Lamborghini with an automatic transmission.

    We Have a Saint.

St. Pier Giorgio was a Lay Dominican, and I am currently in formation as one as well. I was at the Provincial Council meeting for the Central Province this weekend at Marytown and took my pipe along to enjoy a bowl in honor of our brother being raised to the honor of the altar.

    New Royal Comfort observations

I came here to say that the Milan version appears deader than Marley’s ghost, so the new Arango version is all you have left to choose from unless you seek out vintage tins of the old, poorly-reviewed version…

The Flavors of Perique: Fruity vs. Spicy -- FIGHT!

Perique also has different notes based on handling & processing done at the blender. For example, Sutliff's perique had different notes than C&D's, and both are different than G&H's or STG's. Some lean toward the plummy, pruned, raisiny flavor, while others lean toward spice and pepper.

Seattle Pipe Club Vegas show announcement.

There are still tins of Wild Man out there on the various vendors, I see them quite regularly, and even at reasonable prices. I just picked up two tins of Rainier Levant, one of my favorites, for $12.99/tin at P&C. (That sale seems to have ended, it's now back up to $19.52/tin)

ISO Frog Morton OTT or original and aged GL Pease Westminster (9/3/25)

I was hoping for specific suggestions from fellow smokers. You suggested that they had some matches, what is your experience of particular blends? Or, for that matter, anyone else have recommendations for Milan blends?

Can you suggest a few of their blends that might fit the Frog match description?

    Country Squire Delta Honeydew Alternative

This is a blend I wasn't familiar with until just now reading the reviews, and it sounds wonderful. In the fruity vein, you might try Cornell & Diehl's Captain Bob's Blend. That has a jar note of grape kool-aid powder that is a little strange, but it smokes wonderfully and has a fantastic...

Jim's STG Versions of Mac Baren Blends Reviews.

There's a gyros shop near us that has been "closed for remodeling" since before we moved here... 9 years ago.

Neat Way To Hold Your Pipe While Driving

My new On-the-Go arrived yesterday and this thing is just as delightful as @Mike N suggested. The pipe holding section is big enough to hold a large Sherlock Holmes Milverton quite comfortably, and a diminutive prince also sits securely in the spot. The spot for pipe cleaners is deep enough to...

Jim's STG Versions of Mac Baren Blends Reviews.

Word on the street is that Granger improved once it moved to STG. I've only had the new (current) Granger, and it's a very satisfying smoke. If it was even better before STG took it over, it must've been quite lovely back in the day. But I'm happy with the STG version that's available now.

The Biggest Revelation I’ve Ever Had That Changed Pipe Smoking For Me Forever

There's no shame in relighting. That's it. That's the insight. And if someone makes fun of you or tries to insinuate that you're not a good pipe smoker because you needed to relight, pick up your stuff and move away. You don't need that negativity in your life.

142-Year-Old Pipe Tobacco Shop on Harvard Square

That was a fantastic read. Now I want to go to there. And get some Cake Box blend. Any other recommendations from their house blends?
