Why Post Photos of Your Pipes

Some members (myself included) like to share photos of our pipes. Some, not so much. When I returned to smoking pipes a few years ago, I had over twenty pipes from the '70s-80s but was curious at what other pipes were available. The last tobacconist of note in Sydney had closed, and so buying...

1908 Barling Bent Apple - New Arrival

Just arrived - a 1908 Barling bent apple with a stem with an intriguing "chimney tenon extension". Orific bit. Great condition for its age. Crisp stampings. This pipe was posted recently under the "British Pipes" section ("Intriguing 1908 Barling") by @osiris01. His photos are much more...

    Durian KitKat

For those of you who hail from Asia originally No, not an early April Fools Day joke, but a special release for the recent Chinese New Year from KitKat. And yes, it does have a discernible durian flavour, but not strong enough to put off those who are not addicted to this "King of Asian Fruit"

    A 1894 Durandu / Barling arrival

Just arrived this morning - a 1894 Durandu / Barling It's in excellent condition for its age. Absolutely no fills to be seen. I'm pretty sure the stem is a replacement. The shape of the bowl and the silver loop makes me suspect that the original pipe was a kalmasch with a long stem, perhaps of...

    A 1913 Brumfit Straight Billiard

This is a pipe I've had a while. I'd appreciate some information esp from Jesse (@sablebrush52 ) and Jon (@jguss ). It's a 1913 Brumfit straight billiard with slotted bit, tapered stem. The nomenclature is rather indistinct - in good light you can just make out BRUMFIT over LONDON. There are...

A Malaysian Chinese New Year Lunch

Just finished a very enjoyable Malaysian Chinese New Year lunch with 4 mates. A classical CNY dish of Yee Saang (Raw fish salad) A German Spatlese or kabinett is just THE wine to go with this. A few other bottles with the rest of the meal - a Nonya braised duck and 2 fried noodle dishes.

Stanwell Shape 35 Anne Julie Canted Egg

My a white whale is an original Anne Julie canted egg but I imagine if I do come across one, the price would put...

    Tsuge Ikebana

My very 1st Tsuge Ikebana Most will call this a tomato shape. To me it is a squat brandy (as in brandy snifter) Not quite 360 straight grain. But lovely, nonetheless

    Show Us Your Morta Pipes.

There are numerous threads on morta pipes, but I was surprised to find none dedicated to showing off your mortas. So here are mine to start this thread A few Morettis. Marco's mortas are well-made and very fairly priced. A good starting point for anyone looking at morta pipes

    Morels in Port Reduction

@JKoD - I'm envious of the fresh morel in your avatar. Fresh morels (in Oz) have been sighted from time to time, but no mushroomer worth his salt is willing to impart the location(s) of his patch. I cooked up a batch of dried morels in a port reduction glaze to go with scotch filet and roast...
