Boxpressed: What For?

Im still exploring an old forgotten favorite. Marlin flake...mixed half and half with Louisana Broken Flake. They play together very nicely and the HU helps the Marlin (which is dried and rubbed out) to stay lit better. Smoking in a Peter Klein- Sigmund

Available tobaccos - Northern-Italy, French Riviera
France and Italy in general have crap tobacco selection. Bring stuff you like. There are lots of good pipe shops. Some nice ones near lake comm in italy. A few i. France. Tobacco is very expensive in France. Italy is more affordable but selection is limited. The US is the tobacco king. Germany...- Sigmund

9mm Charcol Filters vs Meerschaum Throwdown
I hate those old blue cap vauens. They are resistant. Just for interests cut a piece of paper and roll yourself a paper filter and see what you think. Printer paper works, a little heavier (no gloss) paper is better.- Sigmund

Estate Finds And Advise Needed!
The big thing will be the stems. When you remove the oxidation pay attention to how you sand/abrade near the edge. Its easy to round down the "corners" where the joint is. Then when you put it back together it doesnt look so hot.- Sigmund

Enjoyment of simplicity or one Dimensional?
There are no rules and there is time to try other stuff. Just enjoy. If and when you feel like experimenting you can do that too. Ive tried a lot of blends but there are less than a half dozen that I repeat regularly.- Sigmund

I have not tried a smaller filter but its an interesting idea. However, I wonder if all you are getting is the result of flow around on the paper filtration. With very little snugness is much being pulled through? That’s hard to determine. Perhaps tape off the end of the filter intake side...- Sigmund

Filter life
Im starting a betting pool. I think the OP is using filters when they are still wet. Wet filters dont filter. Absorbtion as well as the pass through filtration are important and wet doesnt work. It also reeks when wet and cold. That goes away once its dried. I never get a funky taste using...- Sigmund
