To me Baki makes, hands down, the most beautiful meers. Both are beautiful pipes but the Baki just has a little bit more refined look that just tells you it's going to be a new favorite and great smoker.
The WDC is shape number 44. I just took a damp paper towel to the WDC and its going to look great cleaned up. The original stain is mostly gone but where it still shows is a gorgeous red stain. I think that one is going to be a great learning experience restoring it. The Kaywoodie will be a...
My wife and I went to the antique mall today and I saw quite a few estates. Some maybe overpriced but I found one case where all the pipes were marked $6.50. Most were in rough shape one even had tape on the bottom to fix a burnout. But I scored what I thought were the best two. The first is a...
A little over a month ago Harris (Cigrmaster) contacted me and much to my surprise he asked if I would like two pipes that had fallen out of his normal rotation. I gladly accepted his extremely generous offer. He sent out the pipes and I received them the very first day I was in my new...
Just a heads up due to the square tin it will dry out pretty quickly. I think you'll be fine leaving it for 3 to 4 weeks and then smoking it up within another 3 weeks or jarring it.
In the long run both will go up in price and one will give you significantly more smokes for the price. Maybe just cut your cigar purchases down to a few here and there and focus on the cellar. This is coming from someone who only smokes a stick or two a year, so take it with a grain of salt.
Like Roth says it really changes after resting a bit in the tin after its opened. I'd say my best smokes from it came about 3 to 4 weeks after I opened it.
Mixing Aros can produce some pretty good results. A favorite of mine is Scotty's Butternut Burely mixed with Newminster Blackberry Brandy it's such a cool flavorful smoke perfect for summer time. I haven't smoked it since last summer, but I've been thinking about it this week and I need to get...
So I was running short on time this morning and decided to try something I've never done...microwave my tobacco! I rubbed out four coins on a paper towel and threw it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Came out perfectly dry and passed the pinch test perfectly. Loaded it up in my Tsuge's Dublin...
After the discussion about MacBite I've started smoking from my jar of Dark Twist again. I had it in my mind that whatever bite I was getting was from poor cadence and drying/packing technique. Over the last couple days I've been trying to get the most flavor out of this notoriously bitey, but...
I'm a manager at a national sporting goods store. I enjoy it, but I miss working with my hands. I maintained the Physical Sciences buildings and labs at Arizona State University for 3 years. It was a lot of fun doing something different everyday some days it was painting, some days designing and...
