Time for a clay pipe.
Meh, if you're careful with them, they can be smoked virtually forever. I don't consider clays - or cobs, for that matter - to be disposable. -

I have not had Ryback, but D&R makes some very solid, natural blends. I've smoked quite a bit of Three Sails (shag VA) and Two Timer (rough cut burley), and they're both excellent. I prefer to hydrate shag cuts. They can get a little hot and harsh smoked dry straight out of the bag. I love HH...- Lumbridge

Exactly what I was thinking - that there was no way the threads would hold up to repeated disassembly and that I should remove the threaded part as infrequently as possible. Mineral oil is often sold in drugstores as a laxative to be taken by mouth. It's very cheap and could be considered "food grade" as it is safe to consume in small quantities.- Lumbridge

Do clays in particular have a higher incidence of this? I've never heard anything about it. Why would clays carry a higher cancer risk than any other type of pipe?
