***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

After early appointments, approaching the bottom of a GLP Stonehenge tin, in a 1998 Tinsky blast sitter. ... and soon back to the office for light Friday research before an early weekend. I'll finish the tin with a similar Ser Jacopo.

    Bowl Damage?

It's a great looking pipe! The tall, thin bowl will be a challenge to a new pipe smoker (I just left a little information in response to a "specific pipe" question if you want to look it up). They're also a challenge to ream. Let a pro show you first time, or at least youtube "ream a pipe."

General Help With a Specific Pipe

Hi, great advice from others. I'll add that chimneys are difficult to master, and your reply below that the raw chamber is only thinly coated will exacerbate the difficulties. Some might say you should put it away for a while, and the corncob suggestions are spot on ($10 price range from...

    When to Use Humidifiers?

Yeah, baby, all the way to the bottom. I think I have just enough for that little Dunhill Prince bowl.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

I'm taking a auick break after a dip in the pool, with 1/3-bowl of Haddo's Delight that survived perfectly for almost exactly 24 years in a food saver bag. This pipe is a Le Nuvole prince-kinda freehand unless someone can tell me what it's called. Not looking forward to going back to the office...

    When to Use Humidifiers?

A little more to report for your consideration: I accidentially opened a couple 25+ year old tins in perfect condition, so even though food saver bags lost their seal, they kept most rust at bay, which might be important to you in a similar situation. After so many years, from what I...

They're interested in seeing you. And need to.

    When to Use Humidifiers?

Relevant report: After finally pulling some of the American tins from deep in the cellar I transferred several to jars thanks to a wake-up call here. They had a little pinhole rust so were dry but thankfully stored in food saver bags so no loss. I will smoke them as-is. They aren't aging anymore...

Heat and Humidity Affecting Outdoor Smoking?

You can do it - get wet. Take a shower, or quick dip in the pool/ocean/lake/river and then a shower, every few hours depending on how oppressive it gets. Stay wet - those in the know wear fishing shirt material here in SE Florida, even to the office (with a tie when necessary), so even if I...

Mold in Cornell & Diehl Steamworks

Thanks, that was a bad memory and loss. It wasn't just that blend, you'll recall. It was a trend. Of course, Craig and Linda are everyone's family; great people, and Sykes has done more for the craft than I'll ever know. I've lost touch and glad they seem to be back on track again.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

All I had hoped for was to keep the salt away, living at the beach, and most have in fact expanded so you are right. I have more than I can smoke so may auction the good tins and jar anything that's suspicious for my own use. But, you would probably strongly agree that those light tins have to...

How do you store the Stratford? My tins are that old and I'm getting worried. Haddo's, Stonehenge, Inverness, and a little Fez, too. They've been mostly in food saver bags.

What Are You Listening To - June, 2024

Fox News in the yard while it rains HARD... I stop listening during election seasons because i hate the constant spin but the pre-debate shows are interesting this time around.
