Tobacco taxes aren't fun but at least I live close to the Iowa border so I can run to Estherville and buy my wife's cigarettes. Minnesota price $74 per carton......Iowa price $55 dollars a carton. Buy 6 cartons for her once a month saves a lot of money.- prairiedruid

October Tobacco Crawl with Greg L. Pease
Tin note is a fermented raisin/grape must odor. I liked the moisture level right out of the tin and just rubbed it out a bit to pack my cob. Definitely picked up the fruity notes at first light and through first 1/4 of the bowl at which point the peppery spice started to slowly increase...- prairiedruid

Ok... baccy newbie question
I wouldn't say that aromatics all use bad quality tobacco. I like Lane 1-Q and Peter Stokkebye's Nougat and would say that the quality of the tobacco is just fine. Quick Questions
I run a pipe cleaner or 2 through my cobs right after each smoke to clean and help dry them and then I don't smoke that cob for a day. I clean with vodka soaked pipe cleaners once every 3-4 weeks. The bowl I wipe out with a paper towel or pipe tool as needed.- prairiedruid

Newbie flailing on whether to smoke or not!
Just a quick question: are the pipes you collect already smoked? Could part of the "burnt" taste you get from smoking is from a pipe that hasn't been cleaned properly? Also have to agree with several of the posters that it seems you are looking for reasons pipe smoking can be bad but not...- prairiedruid
