    Hello from NYC

Welcome to the forums, from Western Pa! And based on your intro, I'll add I'm a Buddhist but I'm not very good at it lol. Note to others: You can "do" Bhuddism as well as your preferred religion, as it's not a religion itself, at least by Western standards. Thought I should throw that in...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

I've been lazy about preparing/using my jarred plugs, so Dan Tobacco Salty Dogs in a clay it is.

    Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Welcome from Western Pennsylvania! I don't usually see Purple Cow listed amongst people's favorites. I've had it and enjoyed it very much, but stuck with the similar blend, Billy Budd in my regular rotation.

Watching the sunrise with Kramer's Father Dempsey in a Carolina Gent.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Enjoying some Montford Point Marine in a Carolina Gent cob on the back porch before I start dinner. I really like the simplicity of this blend containing just burley, latakia and perique. It's strong and full flavored but very smooth. At some point I'll have to try Tuggle Hall and/or...

Long Term Cob Torture Test: 6 Months Under The Elements

I would venture to guess that one of the smooth, polished cobs would fare better than the natural finish, rough cob currently on the roof. Too late for that now though -- the Science is already in progress.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Watching the sunrise through the fog and 100% overcast with a bowl of Billy Budd in a Country Gent with morning coffee.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Sutliff Ready Rubbed Match in a Carolina Gent. Winds picking up on the back porch -- watching the storm clouds roll in. Good times.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

It really is! I only have two others, both Markus Fohr. One is a straight up full clay but very small (as most were), and the other is one with a 'modern' stem (meaning the same gauge as say, a contemporary briar). I like this new one better because even though the stem is not clay, it has...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

I don't currently have a photo -- I suppose I should get in the habit of posting an occasional photo to the "what are you smoking" thread, but they're nearly always cobs and clays, so I figured it's not in the show n tell category. That said, here's the link to my new pipe: Old German Clay Pipe...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Got in a nice new Old German Clay with a horn stem. Having Black Frigate as the first smoke.

    Perique

I have the granulated (from C&D) -- I didn't know they also have a long cut. Have you tried both? I may have to get a couple oz of this next order and compare. I do actually like it straight, though usually I blend it with burleys now and then.

Old Joe Krantz in a cob, bourbon on the side.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Um, well you wouldn't have been reading this thread then...right? ;) Of course I begrudge no one the right to simply be a pot stirrer :p

A Rumination on Super Sweet, Candy-flavored Aro Bombs

I rarely smoke aromatics myself, but I can recommend without reservation trying some from Boswell Pipes. They have an extensive well crafted line of aromatics, both the 'super sweets' and the more subtle.

    A Few Questions.......

    1) No I don't inhale, but I do retro-hale quite a bit (same goes with cigars). Draw the smoke into your mouth, and exhale through the nose. You'll draw more nic that way, if that's what you're after, and IMO enhances your experience of the tobacco. Especially with blends containing perique...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

We have similar tastes. I always have a can of Granger handy, and do enjoy Pegasus for pretty much the qualities you laid out. More recently, I've been smoking Old Joe Krantz Blue Label, and find it to be in the same lane. In fact, at least for now, I like it a bit more than Pegasus, for...
