Enjoying some Montford Point Marine in a Carolina Gent cob on the back porch before I start dinner. I really like the simplicity of this blend containing just burley, latakia and perique. It's strong and full flavored but very smooth. At some point I'll have to try Tuggle Hall and/or...- --dante--

Long Term Cob Torture Test: 6 Months Under The Elements
I would venture to guess that one of the smooth, polished cobs would fare better than the natural finish, rough cob currently on the roof. Too late for that now though -- the Science is already in progress. -

It really is! I only have two others, both Markus Fohr. One is a straight up full clay but very small (as most were), and the other is one with a 'modern' stem (meaning the same gauge as say, a contemporary briar). I have the granulated (from C&D) -- I didn't know they also have a long cut. Have you tried both? I may have to get a couple oz of this next order and compare. I do actually like it straight, though usually I blend it with burleys now and then.- --dante--

A Rumination on Super Sweet, Candy-flavored Aro Bombs
I rarely smoke aromatics myself, but I can recommend without reservation trying some from Boswell Pipes. They have an extensive well crafted line of aromatics, both the 'super sweets' and the more subtle.- --dante--

A Few Questions.......
1) No I don't inhale, but I do retro-hale quite a bit (same goes with cigars). Draw the smoke into your mouth, and exhale through the nose. You'll draw more nic that way, if that's what you're after, and IMO enhances your experience of the tobacco. Especially with blends containing perique...- --dante--

We have similar tastes. I always have a can of Granger handy, and do enjoy Pegasus for pretty much the qualities you laid out.
