First Pipe, Briar Or Cob?
I started with a cheap cob off the drugstore rack, and was kinda turned off by it because of the filter, or the overly airy draw if the filter was removed. It just seemed to confuse matters for me. For that reason, I think a briar is best for a new smoker. On the other hand, a 'higher-end'...- --dante--

People Who Shorten Your Name
I think you should refer to someone by the name they introduced themselves to you as, at least until/if you become closer friends. For me, I have an Italian name "Dante", and what has irked me sometimes was people asking me if I go by "Don" or "Dan" (as if to say 'surely you don't actually go...- --dante--

Mac Baren Burley London Blend Available!
I have several tins on the way I ordered on a whim. From the reviews I've read, it seemed to be a nice straightforward burley with a slight chocolate/cocoa note. Sort of like a little stronger Prince Albert-type blend. Anyone that's already had this, does that sound about right?- --dante--

320 vs. 321: A (re)Discussion
For me, the 321 as I like a slightly smaller pipe in general, and only travel with smaller pipes. A 320 would be fine, it would just be one that stays on my back porch for when I want a larger bowl at home. Currently, I only own a 321 (author), and it's one of my most frequently used pipes... -
Opinions on Boswell’s Tobacco
I don't care for aromatics, or very mild blends, and all Boswell blends fall under those categories. That's not to say they are not quality blends, just not blends I care for. Like the others said, it's an old tin, when there was no red, blue, or white label variants. If it were newer, it'd still be Old Joe Krantz, as the other labeled blends would specify they were red, white, or blue label. The problem is most Americans wouldn't know he was a competitive driver unless he had a competitive car. An upcoming American driver isn't likely to get a Red Bull/Ferrari/Mercedes seat right off the bat. Ideally, for a Yank team, he'd be a Haas driver, but then of course he can't compete...- --dante--
