    Favorite Bur/Per

For burley and perique _only_ blends, Wilke Wall Street is definitely my favorite.

Codger Blend as a Daily Smoke

Sticking to the OTC codger blends, for me it's Granger, with Prince Albert a close second.

    What Happened To Lima Beans?

Oh yeah, the bigger the bean the better with ham.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2022?***

Old Joe Krantz in a Country Gent with wine. I don't like the wine with it so much, but I'm outta bourbon and my wife was not out of wine.

    What Happened To Lima Beans?

I think butter beans are just bigger lima beans and vice-versa.

    What Happened To Lima Beans?

Yeah now that you mention it, I've never once seen them at a grocery store -- just rarely at a farmer's stand.

    Where Is Our Ettrick puffer?

Yeah now that you mention it, I remember wondering what happened to @Richmond B. Funkenhouser , and then he re appeared and I was thinking "oh, okay -- he's alright". But yeah, I think people just drift away from most any forum, for various reasons.

    What Happened To Lima Beans?

I don't remember seeing fresh ones for years. Only frozen where I live (Western PA).

    Ovaltine In Coffee

I'm just surprised to learn Ovaltine still exists. I guess Tang must still be around too then?

***What Are You Smoking, August 2022?***

Kramer's Father Dempsey in a poker cob.

    Happy Accident (Thanks Bob Ross...)

Two parts Kellys Coin to one part C&D Granulated Perique (not an accidental discovery, just wanted to make it bur/per once in a while). Also, I frequently mix Five Brothers and D&R Two Timer 50/50, resulting in a blend I like more than either on their own. This was not my idea, another forum...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2022?***

Ten Russians in a Country Gent with coffee at 0-dark-thirty this morning.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2022?***

Old Joe Krantz Blue Label in a dagner poker cob with some bourbon before starting dinner.

Does Anyone Else Smoke Whilst Mowing?!

Does smoking a pipe while watching your wife mow the lawn count?

    Legal Moonshine.. Any Good?

We did that too, but where I grew up we called it "Purple Jesus" lol

    People Who Shorten Your Name

It is. I like when our group wanders off onto these little side things.

    People Who Shorten Your Name

Agreed -- if I only know the name beforehand, I use the full proper name when meeting. If someone introduces themselves to me, then I know what they prefer to be called and use that. Sometimes, you meet someone and they'll say 'just call me Dan' or whatever, and then at least you know how to...

    RIP Olivia Newton-John.

She was well known here in the US, and will be missed. She had many songs on the radio (remember those?) that were very popular here, and no one can forget her as Sandy in the musical/movie Grease. Sad to hear.

    Stepping Outside of Aromatics

I would suggest you try some simple burley or burley/Virginia blends. The codger blends (Prince Albert, Granger, Carter Hall, etc) are quite good in this category, and have just a slight topping, not like straight-up aromatics. In addition to the codger blends, C&D Pegasus and C&D Briar Fox...
