Oh boy, good find! Potential Oportunity.
I just was farting around, and walked into a local news shop, i saw that they had pipe tobacco, so i asked to see if they had any pipe, the sweet old lady that was the owner pulled out a dusty box full of pipes, grabows, kaywoodies, medicos, mr brogs, and yelloboles, all from the 60's and 70's...- jchaplick

Tobacco with a little extra... flavor
Nope, never tried it, i do know a guy who would smoke perodi cigar, keep the buts, grind them in a food processor after they dried out completely, then rehydrated them by putting them in an airtight box with a humidifier and a shot glass of scotch, he would then smoke it once all the scotch had...- jchaplick

Does heavier briar denote... higher quality?
NOOO, it is the total opposite, the lighter briar is higher quality, it means it is a more naturally dried and old peice. The drier it is, the more porous it is, that means it will smoke drier and cooler,because of better absorption The lighter the better!!! all the time. If you have two of the...- jchaplick

Who do you smoke with?
I smoke alone quite often, but i also smoke with my friend mike, I also smoke with my soc professor Mike 'doc' Garr, who many of you may know, and i am the VP of the Pocono Inter-mountain Pipe Enthusiasts. I enjoy doing both, smoking alone, and with others.- jchaplick

You sort of take a longer time between draws, really you just take smaller puffs, alot also has to do with watching the ember on the top of the pipe move around the bowl, that is if you can find it. you really dont get a perfect actual ending time, when you realize your out and you cant come... -

Haha, i got 21.23, worst part of that is doc is my club president, my soc professor.. and i had to drive back to PA with him, i still couldnt put a better time in than 21 minutes. Did end up with a beauitiful pipe carved by tim hynick. Pics will come soon -

Question about pipe resting.
Personally i use one pipe a day, all day, then let it rest for at least 5 days, the only way i dont do that, is if i want to 'chain smoke' when i smoke one pipe bowl one after the other because of some external reason, like im waiting for something and the only thing i can do is sit there and smoke- jchaplick

Help! All my tobaccos are tasting salty. Symptom of tongue burn?
I have been having similar symptoms, i think it is tongue burn...not bite... try using biotene, i think thats what its called, something at least similar to that anyway, its the only thing ive found that takes tongue burns away- jchaplick
