    Solani 633

Thanks for the advice cigrmaster - I will crack it one of those days, I still have so much on my plate and a new order on the way. lol Until I do I'll keep reminding myself how I'm missing out. Solani 633 certainly sounds good but I am a little Perique-biased; I'm one of those that wants a...

    Solani 633

Sounds good; I've always wondered where it ranked in the Va/per pantheon... I tend towards the spicier side of thing but it is nice to have a nice sweet VA dominant one for a change. I've got a tin with over a year's age on it, I should get a couple more - one fresh, the rest to save. I still...

    Home Brewing

roudoudou, Burtonizing the water is the easy part. Making an authentic IPA if you aren't boiling full volumes - not so much... Hop utilization is way down with a concentrated wort, and having to top up the carboy with water after the fact halves the IBUs as far as I understand. Brewing a beer...

    Brigham Pipes

Nice pipe, Mick. Some of the ones on SmokingPipes look pretty nice. I'm not much for filters though, so I'd probably remove mine if I went ahead and bought a Brig...

    Tobacco shipped to Canada

I guess what I was trying to say is that if there are still good stores left in your area, it is nice if you can frequent them in some way. I know that isn't the case for most of us - hell, I haven't bought anything locally in 2 years. As kabong points out, the tobacconists can be great guys who...

    Home Brewing

Thanks for the tips guys, and thanks for the recipe Baron. I've read the Compleat Meadmaker by Ken Schramm and I'm familiar with the basics but as I said access to good honey has been an obstacle. I've got all of the gear already (except I'll get new plastic parts for mead exclusively) since I...

What are You Drinking Tonight...And Who With?

I never had anything but coffee after all... Maybe that's what I'm up so damn late. lol

Hmm all this talk has me leaning towards cognac instead... what to do, what to do.

Good Tobacco to Help Me Stop Cigs

I'm not trying to hijack the thread here or anything since I've never smoked cigarettes as a habit, but do you guys find Escudo strong in the scheme of things? I consider myself a lightweight and Escudo doesn't bother me a bit... I smoke it on an empty stomach all the time, often with coffee; if...

    Home Brewing

Mead has been on my radar for awhile, but I've never gotten around to it... It is really hard to get honey in these parts. I've found a few sources online but it is extremely costly to get honey shipped here, and there weren't many varietals to choose from... I've only had commercial mead twice...

Tried a cigar out of curiosity

I'm not really an educated cigar consumer; what's a good high end medium-sized cigar available at Smokingpipes.com for example? (In addition to that, what's a good maduro recommendation? I'd like to at least smoke one well-made example, I've heard so much about them) Pipes will always be number...

    "Do you smoke?"

Yeah I don't have any time for propaganda like that, that's why I'm a bit careful. It's alarming sometimes how they can't see the difference between someone smoking two packs a day and someone who has two bowls a day... If I smoked a tin a day, I'd definitely see the need to tell them outright...

What are You Drinking Tonight...And Who With?

If I do it'll be a party of one with homemade wine. LOL Story of my life...

    Tobacco shipped to Canada

$50 is highway robbery so I wouldn't blame you personally if you never again bought a single gram of tobacco from a local source... With that said, that's probably how much a good blend would cost around here. I agree, spending money south of the border won't go astray these days. Hopefully you...

Is the current Dunhill still high quality tobacco?

Methinks I'm going to get a few Dunhill Flake to cellar then. I've personally lost the desire to try any vintage tins, especially ones that are currently unavailable. I'm okay with letting the past stay in the past! Latakia blends especially I tend to prefer fairly fresh, so I'm happy with the...

    Tobacco shipped to Canada

Ouch... Don't get me wrong, I don't approve of the tobacco taxes but I just wanted to show a sign of support for the few decent tobacconists that have managed to survive this long. We only have the government to thank for this situation.

    Tattoos and corporate buttmonkeying

I think you did the right thing, man. It isn't right for you to be singled out. I think it is sad and rather ridiculous that we are still stuck with this "professional" appearance BS in this day and age. People might blame you for asking for clarification but I think it that's off base... I...

    "Do you smoke?"

I guess it depends on whether or not you think it is their business... I'd tell my doctor or dentist the extent of my pipe smoking if they asked me specifically or if I had a related concern, otherwise I don't necessarily broadcast it to them.

    Tobacco shipped to Canada

The thing about travelling and buying tobacco is that you are still bound by border restrictions so there is only so much you can bring back unless you are constantly taking long trips across the border... And I will also say that I think everyone up here in Canada shouldn't take their B&M...

Is the current Dunhill still high quality tobacco?

I'm planning to get some Dunhill Flake in the near future... Any opinions on that one guys?
