I'm getting a beer fridge
As was mentioned, the fridge is bad news for your tobacco. I just keep mine in a closed wooden wine box raised a few feet off the floor where it is at the normal humidity, shielded from light, and at a constant temperature... Aging flake
It definitely can't hurt, IMO, but it may change how it ages exactly. Split one tin between two jars, one whole and the other rubbed out and compare the results a year down the road!- sparroa

I'm not prepared to give this a review just yet, but my first impression of Bayou Morning wasn't great. Strike one... It was really flavourless for the entire bowl. Odyssey vs Ten Russians?
Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at with Ten Russians... I see almost universal praise for Odyssey, and it sounds like it packs a lot of depth in with its latakia punch; TR on the other hand gets blasted as often as it is praised for being over the top. Aging flake
I wouldn't do it because it'd be a hassle, first of all, but I'd think flakes are meant to age as is. Not to mention that you would probably accelerate the drying process by doing it that way. All the same, if you have a cheap flake feel free to give it a shot.- sparroa

I'm not a big stickler on the subject. I would usually consider straight Virginias to contain nothing but a mixture of different Virginia tobaccos, but something as subtle as Orlik Golden Sliced (where the perique isn't really detectable) is close enough to my definition... Don't forget Virginia Perique blends in your search... To me, it is the tastiest and simplest combination of all! I like latakia as much as the next guy but I'm a sucker for the spiciness found in a good va/per. And Escudo followed by a dark roasted black coffee - magnificent!- sparroa
