Choosing Blends for HOT Summers. Any Suggestion?

Well here in Northern Indiana I can definitely say when it's in the 90's and humid as all get out I prefer the "cleaner", lighter tastes of VaPers. Nothing like sweating your ass off at midnight with a beer and a pipe in the middle of summer. It gets hot here but nowhere near as hot as my birth...

My First Osage Orange - And I Love It.

    Haha. Shows my ignorance.

    Any Hockey Players Here?

Now you've got me traveling down memory lane. God I used to love old Norris division hockey.

My First Osage Orange - And I Love It.

Very nice. What wood is it made out of?

    Any Hockey Players Here?

I played up through high school. After that I played in a few beer leagues. I haven't played in about 8 years. Right Defense. You dig at my goalie and I put you on your back. I still root for the Red Wings but I've really drifted from pro hockey the last 6-7 years.

Not An Expert On Gin But.....

Mmmm pine trees. I'd like to try that. I stick to Tanq 10 and Bombay Sapphire as of right now.

    Worst Deal on a Meer?

Sorry this didn't work out better for you D. But thanks for passing on the info to save other people the same hassle. You *may* have gotten a bad pipe (1 in 1000), but IMO it could have been handled 10x better on their end.

    Kaywoodie restoring 2 different finishes

I never thought about warming up the alcohol....good tip De Leon. Welcome aboard RX. I've been getting into restorations the past few months too. I usually just sand quite a bit to lighten up a darker stain, but a lot of times I think they used heavy heavy stains to cover briar that wasn't...

A Yeti Obsession (Very Pic Heavy)

Gorgeous looking pipes. I love that cherrywood. I saw it via tumblr the first time. Love at first sight. DPK I'm very glad you snagged it.

What Are You Smoking? May 2013

McCelland's Beacon in a Savinelli de luxe Milano Bulldog. Coffee. Got a pot of beans on, and getting ready to start the pork for carnitas this afternoon. I'm cheating though. I didn't make my own tortillas. Mine always come out amoeba shaped.

    Virginia Suggestions Please

We don't need another hero. We just need to know the waaaaaaaay home. I'm not into straight Virginias, but I really enjoyed Mac Baren's #1 once I finally started to get some basics down.

    A True Canadian At Heart

I looked through a Savinelli shape chart but I couldn't find a 130. There's a 130th anniversary pipe but a different shape. Either way it' a good looking pipe.

    Think I've Found My VAPer!

Moses have you checked out McCelland's Beacon by any chance? It is one of my favorite VaPers. It's like eating wine soaked brisket with a pepper crust. I enjoy a few different blenders but lately McCelland's has really been nothing but home runs for me.

How Long Will an Unopened Stokkebye Box Last?

Beautiful little tobacco cookies. I just want to eat them.

    FM Cellar...What's Next

I'll go a little lighter then all of these great suggestions. McCelland's Jubilee. It's sweet, tart, smokey, but never at the same time. It's a very light smoke IMO. At times it almost tastes like Earl Gray. Pitchfork turned me onto it. GLP Chelsea Morning. A little heavier, but sweet...

Did She Fall Off of The Planet?

MISU! Best wishes to that grandbaby of yours. My wife and I lived in a NICU at a childrens hospital (three hours away from where we live) for five weeks when my youngest was born. I never tell people I know how they feel, but I remember leaving my other kids with our parents and how grateful...

    Recommendations? Opinions?

I like my bulldogs but the small bowel size always dictates how often I smoke them. Of course you can find bigger ones, but you catch my drift. I have a Savinelli Milano bulldog that is one of my favorite pipes, small bowl and all. It just fits perfect in my hand and the stem in the most...
