    Got Strange Looks Smoking?

Amen Plateauguy. I have enough problems with myself, I can't worry about other people's problems with me. Heh.

    Your Fathers Favorite Sayings

Gosh, so many of them. A few stick with me. "Don't be afraid to solve a problem with an eraser." "Chuck it Farlie." He still always says that out of the clear blue sky. "Liking turns to loving, loving turns to *&$!ing, and I don't want to be &#$!ed by any of your guys." "&%$! him in his...

    An Eclectic TAD Order

Marlin's Flake is the Queen Bee's knees. Like smoking raisins, covered in white pepper. I'm down to my last two bowls and I'm highly unhappy about it. I love that sticky sweet flake. I want to eat it.

    First Time Advice?

First off, welcome! Your looking at a few variables, but don't be discouraged. I burned the heck out of myself smoking a cherry blend my first time out. It was sore for three days. First off you might try slowing down on your puffing. By the rate your tobacco is being burned up I think its...

What Are You Smoking? June 2013

CAO Moontrance in a CAO Meer billiard. Coffee. It's a little better dried out, its reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on it.

how to clean the outside of an briarwood estate pipe bowl

kgill. Yes, it will strip it. That's why I mentioned the water and brush/qtips. And your 100% right about about cleaning it before your wax it. I've used Halcyon wax before. I'm on the fence about it. You really need to use a TINY bit and make sure you rub it in very well. It dulls shortly...

Dunhill: Early morning pipe ( in a corn cob)

I really like smoking VaPers in a cob. The sweet tastes just seem made for each other. I think EMP would be a fine fit. You can't do anything "wrong" in pipe smoking. It's all part of the experience and journey. EMP is tasty. I haven't smoked any in months, but it really opened up a whole...

    Post Your Smallest Pipes

I bought this modified Comoy recently. That's a coin of LBF for reference. I can get 1 1/2 coins in it.

how to clean the outside of an briarwood estate pipe bowl

I normally use rubbing alcohol most times, but I'm not a fan of heavy stains. But if I'm trying to keep the stain I would use wet toothbrush or q tip (great for rims), then wipe with a fluffy rag. I know folks say briar and water don't mix and prolonged water contact can make the grain swell...

    Pulled Over For Pipe Smoking

I get second glances when I'm relighting too, but never more then when I'm smoking my Falcon. It's that metal that makes people wonder what they saw.

I Now Have a Stem Fetish

Agreed. I really like my Mario Grandi but the dang button is just square and huge. Its like puffing on a big Lego. My Savinelii Milano has the best stem I've ever tried. I'm really liking that line.

    A Close Call

Peck glad you all are alright. I've had the same thing happen to some of our trucks when we get them back from the City garage.

    Filling a Pipe Stem

I wonder if you can get them out with steam. I've never tried this but I know Al and a lot of other folks have. I know it involves heating up a knife, a wet cloth, and using the steam to lift out the dings.

    Where Are You Located?

South Bend, Indiana. Past home of Studebaker, South Bend Lathe, Oliver Plow, and now we're only known for Notre Dame. I've lived everywhere else. Been here 20 years now.

    Jobs

I am a Superintendent in the Park and Recreation Department. I oversee several large city wide programs, handle contractors, interface with City government, and some days lay on my back and work on mowing decks. Work is work, whether it's getting my hands dirty or politicking with new...
