I Gave In Again... Hilson PAD

Love my Hilson's. Just think of it like this. You're going to have that pipe for what maybe 50 years? Divide the price you paid by those 50 years. That's less then $2 a year for a ton of enjoyment! If that doesn't work then break it down by day. That's .006 cents a day!

Rungsted Seafarer: Preben Holm’s First Pipe Line?

Pete and Rig, those are some beauties.

Advice please - lightweight, short stroll smoker

Ditto what Neil mentioned. Some of those bulldogs they make with the beveled sides are slick. I'd also toss out the metal Tsuge variations. I keep thinking about picking up a Tankard, but I always talk myself out of it.

    Narrowing My Tobacco Choices...

I definitely have a narrow focus when it comes to tobaccos due to the fact I don't smoke but maybe 5-8 bowls per week. I do enjoy trying new blends, but by and large due to the short number of bowls I smoke a week I like to "concentrate" on the blends I enjoy. I also only order tobacco 3-4...

    DG Freehands - Automated Snowflakes?

Missed this post. Ed, that freehand is gorgeous. I like that walnut stain.

Falcon Gets Me Brotherhood of the Briar

Apatim. These are just my observations on Falcons. 1. There different, being a metal stem, and a detachable wood or meer bowl. For me "different" can be fun. 2. Due to that design they have a built in air pocket, which in my opinion benefits many tobaccos in terms of taste and smoking...

Complete beginner to smoking. A little overwhelmed.

Welcome Simon! Yes it can all be a bit overwhelming at first. 2 years into it and I'm still narrowing down what I like. If you'd like I'd be more than happy to send you a variety of samples. If you're in the 48 states just PM your address and I'd be happy to share.

    That's a nice bend. Congratulations.

    Dear Missouri Meerschaum...

There's a person on ebay selling acrylic stems fairly cheap for MMs. I'm not sure how well they fit.

    Bye, Bye P & C

I recently gave them another chance after I cancelled an order right after their move. I ordered an estate pipe and had a good experience overall. (Although smoking pipes does a much better job with estates, I got what I thought was a really good deal so I went for it.) I would order from...

    Charring Light, Only Sometimes

Natural! Even better. I've got a ugly as sin Savinelli natural billiard that I love. Yours is much nicer.

Welcome back big guy. I missed you and your Rad Davis's.

    Sasieni Prices Seem Off?

I've only been watching for about 2 years now, but I'm seeing pipes that I used to be able to grab for $15-$35 now go for twice that lately. I am not privy to any actual data, but it seems I run across more restoration threads these days then in the past. Seems like there used to be more...

    My First Month

Glad your enjoying yourself Nurse. It's the old "it's a journey, not a destination" thing for myself. I still learn new nuances from tobaccos I smoke all the time. I know it sounds hokey but some even taste better in specific types of weather. I am not as refined as a lot of fellows on here...

Something About A Long And Hard Days Work...

I started my foray into Scotch just recently with Glenmorangie, Original. So far I'm preferring it with just a bit of water. Seems to unjumble the flavors a bit. Still haven't tried it with a pipe. I do enjoy something dark and stout (whether it be coffee or a pint) with a good VaPer. Oh and...

    Charring Light, Only Sometimes

Kalvort I love that pipe in your avatar. What is it? Ribbons I can get away without a true light. Flakes I need a char to get them going. Doesn't matter anyway since ill be relighting it in 2 minutes anyway...heh.

    Don't Fear the Meer

I have yet to buy a nice turkish stone meer, however my African one I don't mind smoking around the yard. I don't hesitate to set it on the picnic table or potting table.

    Humble Excellence

Joining in on your "low end" celebration Tuold...My Weber Scoop I restored (ignore the stain on my hands). Edit: It smokes great BTW, especially English blends.

Long Shot: Looking for Sources re: William Moulton Marston

Wishing you the absolute best on this project. I know this isn't what your looking for, but I first became interested in him while reading Supergods, by Grant Morrison. I'm emailing a friend of mine who has done some work for DC and seeing if he knows of anyone. It's a real long shot admittedly.
