    I Want Your Opinion

Good looking pipe! I've got several Peterson's and have had fantastic luck with them. They just have this "character" about them that I'm drawn too. I had to laugh at the $200 bit. When I first started smoking I used to look at $80-$100 pipes and think man, that's my absolute limit. Then it...

What Are You Smoking? December 2013

GL Pease Fillmore in a Hilson Dublin. Definitely a sipping smoke. I didn't care for it fresh our of the tin, but the 8 months in a jar has helped it mellow a bit. Coffee.

The Self Gift of Christmas. What did You Get?

Totally read that as "strippers"...and it did sound like fun. I've due to leave for vacation in January for two weeks and I've decided I need a good road pipe to take with me. Tsuge Tankard it is.

    A Christmas Present To Myself

I really like that second cream colored stem. I think it's contrast the dark stain and rustication finish nicely. Enjoy!

Smoke-Proofing a Room, Tobacco Suggestions, and My Return

Welcome back! As for as NA vendors and Virginia's go I know several people have been pretty impressed by the Virginia's from Brigham. Personally I don't do straight Virginia's but I think C&D's Briar Fox gets a lot of love too.

    Peterson's Hyde Park

It isn't you SB. It's a lakeland. I jarred the rest of mine and made it sit in a corner. Not my thing. Crazy eh? What tastes fantastic to some is just a swing and a miss to others. That's one of my favorite parts of this hobby that we share.

    Looking for quality corn cob

Welcome! Ditto the unfinished ones. I think they just smoke cooler and just taste better until you get cake built up in them. You might also want to look at a Forever Stem. I haven't grabbed any yet myself, but some folks love them. Besides then your cob can be all purdy an' fancy.

    Questions About Dr. Grabow

No G man your right. I LOVE my Viscount pot. It's a perfect pipe for clenching and just simmers whatever I put in it. It really seems to pull out Oriental's and bring them to the forefront differently then my other pipes. It's the perfect size too...great for those tasty blends that you like...

    Problems with re lighting

Welcome! I've found that certain types of tobaccos take the flame differently. It seems the more latakia in a blend the more stubborn it gets. Same for shredded or folded flakes (due to their density I guess). The packing and tamping advice given above is great. Personally I've never used...

    7 Refreshed Estates (Pic Heavy)

Pete, those old made in Belgium ones are good smokers. I have a tendency to get any pipe gurgling if I'm not careful, but those old Hilson's of mine just smoke dry from the get go. Although heck I have a few newer ones and they smoke just fine too.
