Anyone Really Like Falcons? Or Hate ‘Em?

Mikefu...hope you like it. They are a decent enough smoke, easy to maintain and stand plenty of abuse.

    Savinelli 305

Do you use the balsa filter captain? I've heard they don't affect flavours at all. I used to like my 9mm filter pipes,Big Bens etc but then found it was strangling the flavours so much, I went back to my 'straight throughs'. I am leaning to the Savenelli range, as I mention in the other thread.

Morning Coffee with the Savinelli Roma 413 Ks

Looks like you've made my mind up captain.

Morning Coffee with the Savinelli Roma 413 Ks

Will be getting a Roma 305 when funds allow. Lucite stem I think, although the vulcanite is cheaper. Not quite made my mind up.

    The Shortest Pipe You Own?

Passatore Pico, 110mm. The nose warmers are the only pipe I find I can tolerate a 9mm filter. Still seem to get most of the flavour through due to the short proximity from bowl to mouth.

Aromatics Not Doing It For Me

Well put Molach 95. An aromatic needn't have the aroma of strawberries, cherries etc to be one.

    Falcon Pipes Question

++ Spuckler, the G and H flakes are at there best in a Falcon and they sure aint the same smoke with the dry ring in the bottom of the humidome.

What Pipe Have You Discovered This Year?

Not discovered a pipe but I have discovered that I like to smoke my flakes (usually Gawith Hoggarth) in straight through pipes and aromatics in 9mm filtered pipes. Falcon Parker Butz Choquin Carey 9mm Big Ben 9mm Passatore Must get a Peterson soon.

Prepping Sam Gawith's Full Virginia Flake

    Samuel Gawith Recommendations?

Always think Black Forest is a tasty underrated bakky.

    Most Aromatic Lakeland

Samuel Gawith - Palace Gate, not an often talked about arro but very good. G & H - all the American style loose (in England) arros, Coofee, Coconut etc etc. Lakelands slightly different (not your 'normal' sweet arro smell) but most have a good aroma - rum flake, mellow mahogany are just 2.

    Dunhill Flake

Just bought a tin at the weekend. Good stuff. It was in the 'square' tin though.

    2 Questions on Lakelands

Lovely stuff, Scotch Cake, Scotch flake, Kendal Cream, the list goes on, no soap whatsoever, rose and geranium are used in some blends, don't get confused! Wish we could get the 'Gawiths' in tins here in the UK. Some wonderful baccys. Like the new 'throw away' boxes surrounding those original...

    Peterson System Pipes

do all petersons come with a tool?

Bought a Fermoy a couple of months back and also got the free 'thinking man'tool.

    Has Peterson Quality Really Declined?

I bought a Pete Fermoy a couple of months ago and the finish is 'bubbling' at the base. Never had that happen to a Big Ben or any other pipe. It don't affect the smoke obviously, but a bit annoying to say the least.
