    Winter Smoking

Whatever happened to the days when a man's home was his castle and he was the King. If he wanted to smoke his pipe by damn he smoked his pipe. "Woman, get in the kitchen and fix my dinner". Okay, I've been divorced for a year. I guess now you know why :D

Amazing the Problems You Can Solve With a Roll of Duct Tape

Once fixed (temporarily) a radiator hose leak on the highway with duct tape. Got me home. Used a hard hat to carry water from a ditch. I have to add there are many uses for a hard hat also.

    Pipe Smokers in the UK

Welcome to all of you in England I'm from the Great State of Texas. I love the global aspect of this forum. It's always interesting to read how things work in other countries. I'm not well traveled at all so I'm always glad to hear what you have to say about our hobby in other places. Even the...

    Good Luck Bad Luck

I don't believe in "luck". Everything happens for a reason. It is not controlled by a mystical magical thing we call "luck". You can't wish good or bad luck on someone, but you can pray for their well being.

    Upside Down Stem

Thanks for the confirmation olewaylon. I was beginning to doubt whether I had posted a good example. Whenever I see this I don't look any further at the pipe in question. The way I see it is that if the seller can't even put the pipe together correctly for a picture he probably can't accurately...

Slow, Even Burning - How do I get that?

+1 Steve on the tongue technique. Moving my tongue like this also helps with tasting the smoke as well as exhaling it through the nose.

    Upside Down Stem

I've noticed that all too frequently sellers on Ebay picture their pipes with the stem mounted upside down. This seems very strange. Are the sellers just too ignorant about pipes to know what they are doing, or is there some reason they do this? It would seem obvious that many of these (if not...

Dunhill - Whats with all the Allure?

I'm smoking my first ever Dunhill right now. It is the 1957 Bruyere Bulldog Group 4 I posted a picture of as my birth year Dunhill a couple of days ago. She smokes excellently. I do think it is somewhat better than my Stanwell's & Savinelli's. The pipe is very light and very comfortable in the...

If you gotta work this week, do it right I say.

I work for a small company in Spring, Texas just north of Houston. The owner is an 82 year old guy who started the company 54 years ago. He's a pipe smoker. No problems if I smoke at my desk or the company warehouse. My office happens to be just off the warehouse away from the others so I get no...
