My Stanwell
Beautiful job Hunter! My Stanwell's are my best pipes. More often than not I go to them over any others I have. I have bought several estate Stanwell's in the $40 dollar range. Great bang for the bucks. -

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
I've had the same problem fnord. I guess we're just stronger than we think. When I try to lighten up my touch a bit I get no results. Now I just use Murphy's Oil soap and a dish rag. Then I use a wet dish rag with no soap to remove the soap. Works for me.- dlattim

The Stuff & Twist Method
I find that flakes don't actually fold well. They tend to fall apart while attempting the fold. The only flake I have tried (and do like) is University Flake, so maybe this is inherent with that brand. I've tried rubbing it out and get a hot smoke. Need a Smoke the Wife will Enjoy
Welcome 05, I have gotten lots of compliments on Dan Tobacco Blue Note. It's a very pleasant aromatic. You won't find it overly cased, and no goopy pipe at the end. I never get a tongue bite from it. I think it's very similar to 1Q.- dlattim

Thanks for the comments everyone. Slowwideturns: I'm not sure of the the shape number. The seller states the only number on the pipe is "1969". I'm not certain what that number refers to. It doesn't seem to be a Stanwell shape number. I'll report back once it arrives if I can find any more... -

Hello everyone, I just picked up this pipe on Ebay. It is stamped Stanwell, Military 1969. Has the crowned "S" on the stem. I'm pretty sure the "1969" doesn't mean that is when it was made, but does anyone know for sure. I can't wait to get it. I love the shape. I couldn't find anything about it...
