Is It The Look or The Smoking Property That Makes You Decide on a Pipe?
After aesthetics the first thing I look at is the stem. If a pipe catches my attention and the stem appears appears bulky or fat to me I skip it. I clench about 85% of the time, therefore I want a thin and smooth stem. Something like a fishtail is great. A small or thin button is mandatory... -

Nice pipe snewton. I have just one Dunhill, a 1957 Bruyere Bulldog. Gives the best smoke of any of my other pipes. It happens to be my birth year also. Thanks for sharing the picture. -

Vucanite vs Acrylic
I guess I'm a bit different. I actually prefer the mouth feel of the acrylic stems. They are smoother and I like that. The vulcanite stems have a slight roughness to them and unless you clean and polish after every other smoke, to me, they just feel dirtier. I don't really choose my pipes over... -

Tip On Making the Tobacco You Don't (Can't) Smoke Smokable
I find a pinch of 1Q mixed in with a VaPer like Bayou Morning or Escudo to be very nice. Of course, for me, you can't beat Escudo on it's own.- dlattim

A Birth Year Dunhill Or...
