Well Folks,

I have just won on ebay my birth year Dunhill (1992), paid the princely sum of £135 plus postage for it which seems ok :) ($204)

A nice Shell Billiard, a fairly small one by the looks.

I hope it looks as nice as I hope when it arrives!

Big congrats to you snewton - a birth year Dunhill is for some the holy grail of pipes. Price seems fair too - do you know the size of the pipe by any chance? :puffy:

Nice pipe snewton. I have just one Dunhill, a 1957 Bruyere Bulldog. Gives the best smoke of any of my other pipes. It happens to be my birth year also. Thanks for sharing the picture.

On the ebay page it said 4.5" long and 1.5" tall which would make it quite small, which would suit me just fine. My first Dunnie so I hope it lives up to expectations.

If anyone wants to upload pictures of their birth year Dunnies be my guest!

Here's mine, It is a 1970 Lovat, group 3, that had a nasty Lakeland ghost but The Old Cajun retorted it for me and it smokes wonderfully now. It is 4 7/8 long by 1 1/2 tall. I would like for it to be a bit larger but it is what it is. A great little pocket pipe or for those times I just wanna grab a quick smoke.

Excellent. Good luck with it. It just dawned on me that I have shoes older than you. It's nice to see a young person with such exquisite taste. Happy smoke rings.

Whoowee! Boy, 1992 for me was like yesterday. I was smoking Prince Albert in my first Dunhill that year, watching the first Gulf War on CNN with Peter Arnett hanging out the hotel window in Bagdad filming cruise missile hits. I remember it like it was yesterday. Congrats on your birth year Dunhill. It's a beauty.

Thanks Guys I appreciate the nice comments.

It is a Birthday treat to myself because I turn 21 in April. That was the only way I could justify it to myself!

Other than it being a Dunhill of course...

Wonderful pipe. I picked up a Dunhill a while back and realized it was a 1969, the year I graduated from college. That summer I went to Iwan Ries in Chicago to buy a pipe. I think I briefly looked at a Dunhill, I think they were about 40 or 50 dollars at the time, way too much money for me. I think I did buy a pipe, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was, nor do I have it today. Maybe I should have sold a pint of blood and saved up for it.

Looks like I am joining quite a prestigious club, judging by these pipes. They all look great!
