    Kirsten News

Not really turn around Pete. They lost the machine shop that made the parts and when they wanted more the cost was way too high. It took them several years to get a new supplier. The site said place your order and we will get back to you. "If no pictures it did not happen" nuts! right click...

    Long Wood Stems

Native Americans sealed a borer insect in a stem/branch and hung it with the bug at the bottom. The borer did the work. I had a borer do that to my apple tree branch which worked out just fine. 8)

    Trouble with Windcap

These look substantial. But, it will not stay in place or is too small to even fit. What am I doing wrong? The other style works fine.

    Clearing Smell From Pipe

I forgot what tobacco that you use. The smell will vary and in my opinion OTCs will smell worse. However, I have smelled my pipe after using a pipe cleaner and swabbing the bowl with a paper towel. It is rank the first day and less so each subsequent day. After three days, it does not smell bad...

    Flying Dutchman Pipe Tobacco

" For those who have tried the tinned version, was its cut the same?" From my exposure to FD in the 60's, the cut was the same. Very long and very thin. More like shag. I had a friend that smoked it exclusively but I did not like it.

    Question On Zippo's Pipe Insert

Although I do not use a plain Zippo, I do think you can light a pipe with one. I have read that you can drill out the standard Zippo to make your own pipe insert. Someone will supply the measurements no doubt. Perhaps you can find a Nimrod Commander in Hungry. I like that one better since it...

How Often Can I Smoke a Briar?

Welcome to he Forum Jared. The key for you is how often you smoke and how many bowls. For weekends only, one pipe for each day sounds about right. Then they will rest for 6 days. How many bowls do you think will be consumed each day? Have fun. :puffy:

Nicotine sensitive people, why do you smoke a pipe?

I thought that addition was characterized the way Bigpond did. I wonder if the cigarette companies have added a chemical to enhance the addition of nicotine or was addictive on it own to the cigarettes that is not in the pipe tobacco. Phil or Warren can you stop pipe smoking for a length of time...

Nicotine sensitive people, why do you smoke a pipe?

Yes, I have and I would. The non nic tobacc had a delightful aroma. It burned without relights. Sadly I have not seen it in years. Although I only smoke 1 to 4 times a month, I do find that I think about what pipe and what tobacc I am to use next. Is that addiction? It does seem strange that my...

    "Taste?"

All of the above. But, what was the "smells good in the tin" tobacco that you are trying? BTW what, how do you tell someone what it is like tasting an avocado? I can't do it. :D

Classic, out of production Virginia blends

Thanks Les. It was the first tobacco that I made the connection to preferring Virginia. Where did you see your find?

Classic, out of production Virginia blends

I have a rectangular tin labeled "The Balkan Sobranie Flake" from the 1980s. It claims that it is "rich in aroma". I assumed that it was Virginia. Does any one know if it is a Virginia?
