As we discussed before in a previous thread, i have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for approximately 6 years (purple belt) and Muay Thai for approximately 5 (certified assistant instructor) as well as others such as boxing, wrestling, submission wrestling, mixed martial arts, Jeet Kun Do and of course, Judo, which is sort of mixed in with BJJ on the takedown side. I have played basketball my entire life. I was heavy into weightlifting of all kinds, including olympic lifting and was a personal trainer for a while (1-2 years) while working in a large chain type gym (Lifetime Fitness) for 4 or 5 years during/after college. I've surfed for around 20 years off and on and moved to San Diego for 2 years after college to pretty much do that and traveled on a surf trip to Nicaragua back in 2010. Also done some wakeboarding and skateboarding (longboard) as well as bmx when i was a kid. I've always led an active lifestyle and been very physically active. I currently teach/train in the martial arts 4-5 days a week as well as doing private lessons fairly often. Most of my friends still find it interesting that i smoke pipes and cigars, considering my physically demanding past times, but i don't find that they affect my performance to any real noticeable level.
