    What do You do?

Lockkeeper, at present on a small tidal river.

    clay pips?

The company 7thearl refers to has been making clays for centuries. BTW, it's not glazing on the end but rather a kind of artificial beeswax. It won't stand up to fire, but you only need to burnish the kettle if you should want to restore it to its original white, not the entire pipe. The price...

    Pipe Museum Amsterdam

Started survey, gave up on it because of bad construction and wording. I have been to the museum, if you're interested in historic pipes it's worth a visit.

Mowed the grass for the first time this year

I had to mow as well, today. I live in Northwestern Europe and usually I can put it off to the second week of April, but now I had trouble getting it cut this soon in the season. The mower had quite a hard time with it, but it did start at the first try after nearly six months of neglect. Did...

Anyone Help Me With Information On This Pipe?

Who made it I don't know, but it looks like Jekyll & Hyde to me. On the outside it's fine, a well chosen shape for this ebauchon and nicely finished. The stem I don't know, but to me it looks like a replacement. The inside looks very different and I'd hesitate to smoke it. My guess would be...

    McClelland Oriental Mixture no. 14

After the 2001 Chicaco Pipe Show I brought home two tins of this. Should've brought a boxful, it's fenomenal and I can't get hold of it here in Europe. Enjoy...

    Music battle: Stones vs Floyd

When about to go out: early Stones. On coming back: Floyd's Dark Side.

Favorite Comic Strip Of All Time?

Li'l Abner knew some extaordinary women and Al Capp sure knew how to draw a good pin-up. I have his book on "The Shmoo", an unforgettable story about sacrifice and greed peppered with hosts of incredibly good-looking girls (and cob-smoking grandpa's I think). Aside from that, Zippy the Pinhead...

    Pipes for women?

Whatever you do, stay clear of the pipoo. You can't fill it, you can't smoke it and the tobacco that comes with it is foul. Tried to give mine away, found no takers so they went in the bin. I do remember about ten years ago Butz (I think, or one of the other members of the Saint-Claude mob) made...

    Question about Savinellis

You chose the best pipe, in my opinion. Also I'm pretty certain everybody here will agree that Mike has chosen very well. I hope you'll share many happy years together, but what should he get for your next birthday? We could play 'postillion d'amour' again, whisper a few suggestions. Maybe you'd...

One Of The coolest Rhodesians I've Seen

It looks great and at $24 I'm sure it'll be worth every cent. I've never seen anything like it, so could you please post a pic with the front end detached? It does come off, doesn't it?

    Might retire my czech tool...

Could be my fault: I can't find it right now, but I'm pretty certain I have one somewhere with spike, spoon and knife. Anyway, thank you for clearing up on the Czech terminology. It does suggest they also have a boatload of pipesmokers in the Czech Republic and/or Slowakia, but I know of only...

What are you Smoking? March 2012

A first: Dunhill Aromatic in my test-pipe. Don't like it at all, so far.

    Might retire my czech tool...

What's a Czech tool? Is that what I'm calling a three-legger, with a spike, a spoon-like thing and a blunt knife on one hinge?

    Pipe Lighters

As I detest matches I have several pipe lighters, from disposable jet flames to the classic Corona. This one works best for me: Piezo spark so no need to carry flints around, smooth shape so it doesn't snag on pockets or whatever, and best of all: it has never let me down.

    Question about Savinellis

I've never smoked a Rinaldo, but this one has both Savinelli's beat on looks alone. Very nice indeed!

    Favorite Pipe Smoking Musician

Found it: I love the slogan claiming these pipes to be 'calorifugees', a very fancy way of saying they're wrapped in leather...

    Zepplin pipes...

Hi jchaplick, According to the manufacturer's instructions (I took the liberty of translating them into English): 1: Do not overfill the front part, because the rear part will take up some space in your tobacco chamber. 2: Close the pipe and light it through the hole in the aluminum endcap...
