August 2010 - What are you smoking?
Last night was sitting back in a lawn chair as the sky got dark with a bowlful of Mac Baren Plumcake in a beat up Dr. Grabow Omega. Was watching for northern lights, but the sky wasn't clear enough. The smoke was good, but the pipe (an estate, cleaned) has a VaPer ghost in it. Will have to see...- classicgeek

caliguy, that's a pretty interesting observation. Around here, there's NO SUCH THING as "drug store" pipe tobacco. Drug stores stock cigarettes (a million different brands) and nothing else. Call it a strange side effect of legislation, but the only place to get pipe tobacco (excepting online)...- classicgeek

Carnival Cruise Lines to Ban Smoking in Smoking Lounges
Seems to me that cruises would be catering to the same demographics that are typically cigar and pipe smokers. But isn't Carnival the one that's trying to get a younger demographic? Repairing a cracked stem?
Since I'm not finished the restoration yet (haven't got my hands on a reamer yet--maybe today), I don't really know how it smokes. Judging from the nature and position of the crack, I don't expect that it will have any other effect than leading to the stem being loose someday if it gets worse...- classicgeek
