On those rare occasions when I do smoke outside I seem to get a bad smoke -- too moist, or something.
Which reminds me to ask, does anyone have a preferred method of quickly drying enough tobacco for one or two smokes? Jonesing once suggested a hair blower, and it worked; but it was awkward trying to keep the tobacco from blowing around too much. Maybe someone in cyberland has a more practicable method.

It was a beautiful evening here tonight. Sat out with my wife on the deck and let the sky grow dark while sending curls of smoke up into it. Why can't every night be as perfect as that?

At this time of year in Pa I'm under my gazebo from sun rise to long after dark. Pipes and cigars alway within easy reach, my portable satellite radio on and my laptop. I'm out here now. My neighbors call me Mr. Bug Control so I have the public service thing going for me.

During the colder months anyone can find me in the garage. Camp chair, ceramic heater and lap desk for the computer.

Coffee in the morning and adult beverages from 4:00 PM on. Afternoons at the pipe shop with other regulars. Life couldn't be any better. Well, I suppose it could be but I'm easy to please.

Welcome to the forums Papipeguy! Lots of lifestyle ideas there. I particularly like the bug control angle. I may have to pull that one on the Mrs. sometime.

Thanks guys. Smoking outside is sort of a forced issue as my bride has COPD.

I don't really mind smoking outside as I believe that I'm a good example for the neighborhood kids as well. Blowing smoke rings, sipping single malts helps sets goals for the little buggers.

I remember teaching the 13 year-old across the street how to mix and garnish a martini in his parents' kitchen. He was a Boy Scout and I truly believed that there was a mixology badge that he could earn.

Now that he's in college he'll drop by on occassion to share a cigar and, eh, a diet Pepsi.

Next I'll teach him the Frank method of how to load a pipe. After all, its all about giving back.

I hate to rub this in but living near San Diego the weather is fine for outside smoking most of the time. Plus I always smoke naked. Tried that shopping once, didn't go as well as I thought it would.

Here in Florida it's WAY too hot right now for smoking out side...and since thats the only time I can, the amount of smoke surrounding me is rapidly diminishing. Once college starts back in a few weeks I'll be able to break out the pipe alot more...I hope.

I'd post pictures but someone would go blind. Heck, I shower in the dark 'cause there's stuff I don't want to see.

I always smoke outside. My wife and I have a policy of not smoking in the house. It is kinda hot right now but fall will be here soon.
