    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

Dang. I didn't notice that the old thread was closed and a new one was open. Since I'm WAY behind on the welcoming, I'll just blanket everyone with a big hearty "Come on in, sit right down and pack a pipe!" Although I have to mention to Obelus: nice collection! I would so love to get one that...

Thanks to Kevin for this site

I'll throw my "ditto" on here, too. I was a bit nervous when I put my first couple of posts here, but the response was so warm (I think five "friend requests" inside of ten minutes) that I took off my coat, grabbed my pipe and stayed a while. The content continues to be top-notch and there's...

PipesMagazine.com - What You Need to Know

I want the Pipe Babes 2011 calendar. I want I want I want... I will give you money. Not just the bottlecaps and bits of string that I usually use to barter with. Simon

Is there any other woman pipe-smoker out there?

I keep trying to get my wife to join me... She'll sample the different blends, but she likes the room note more than the taste. Be welcome, and proud to be a rare bird. Simon

    Canadian Canadian

PAD is a vicious thing, and I'm sorry for causing you pain... wait, no I'm not. I hope that you can get a hold of the pipe that's in your mind's eye. That would be really cool, and we would all like to see pictures when it happens. Simon

    Canadian Canadian

Brigham is a Canadian pipemaker, but I'm not sure that's what you had in mind. Their website. Their #09 shape is a Canadian. I have a 149 (1-pin apple) and a 484 (4-pin volcano) in my collection. Simon

@ulsterpaddy: I'm across the water in Victoria. Got the TV on and I'm waiting for the second period. Cheers!

"Nothing changes on New Year's Day"

Hey ulsterpaddy: the Canucks game is in Dallas, so the start time is 5 pm! Wouldn't want you to miss the first two periods. Go Canucks! Simon

"Nothing changes on New Year's Day"

I'll be practicing for my New Year's Resolution to smoke my pipes more. Simon

    Favorite Shape

I can't say exactly what shape is my favorite. So far every pipe I own is an example of a different shape: apple, horn, billiard, rhodesian, volcano. Of those, my fave is the volcano. It just strikes me as a nice combinations of angles and curves. If I was going to add another couple to my...

December, 2010 What Are You Smoking? II

I'd call it huge. :) But if I had to guess as to the official description of the shape, I would say a brandy. The sides aren't vertical like a billiard, and they don't curl in like an apple. It's a really nice shape. Well done, Jason. Simon

My first 3 REAL pipes i guess lol.

The earlier pipes were just a figment of his imagination. Right now his dad's pretty pissed because his son gave him an imaginary pipe! :-) I've got a Grabow Omega, and maybe it doesn't get as much love as my others, but it still is a pipe, as many bowls of Plumcake, Blue Note, and 1Q will...

    "Smoking your breakfast"

I like it. Sorta like people who look like their pets: pipes that resemble the tobacco inside. Simon
