    Escudo

I don't think of LTF as being comparable to Escudo. Love it or hate it, it has a really strong (I'd say "cloying," but I guess that's a matter of taste) caramel topping that seems to me to put it in a totally different class.

    First Pipe as a Dad

Congratulations! I was amazed how quickly my daughter got me twisted around that wee little finger. We avoided second-hand during the first couple months (and still avoid when not outdoors), but I couldn't help rolling my eyes when nurses warned me in the strongest terms of the dangers of...

    The Devil's Scent--What Is It?

Thanks for all the replies. I've given my pipe a thorough cleaning this AM. We'll see in a few minutes what effect that has. I'm also planning to go to a tobacconist's within the next week, so I'll get a cheep cob and see what that does. I'll keep the charcoal filter in mind as a further...

    The Devil's Scent--What Is It?

This must be a newbie question, but I'm at my wit's end so turning to you all for help: There is a (very unpleasant) flavor I frequently encounter in pipe tobaccos that I can't name. The best I can do to describe it is the flavor of the thick dark stuff that comes out on a pipe-cleaner from the...
