Smoking Pies has Ye Olde Signe

I love it when retailers take the initiative and correct their mistakes, even if it takes them a few days....weeks....or however long it took them.

How likely is Agriculture Bill with Amendment to get through?

It will be interesting to see what happens. The political winds here in the States seems to be swirling at this time so I find it hard to predict which direction the wind will actually be blowing once things begin to settle out in the new year. Here is hoping they blow the way of the pipe smoker.

My Wife's Back From CA and Added to My USA Pipe Collection

Actually, the one I was referring to maybe the Kaywoodie as I get my stamps mixed up. The one I love the look of is the one second row on the right.

    Black Ash

Some tobaccos leave dark ash, some white and some a mixture of both. I would say with the black ash that you are smoking some type of aromatic blend.

You can read kindle books on laptops, smart phone (robot and fruit based styles)and tablets (again beep boop, the kind based on what many feel was the fruit of the tree of knowledge and one based on a very long wild river).

    Maybe its me?

The OP is talking about` tobacco drying out because he keeps opening it up to take some out to smoke. If I am not mistaken, this is not tobacco that is being put away to age or for long term storage. my bet is that the OP live in a dry climate which injects dry air every time they open the jar...

What kind of pipe is this?

If I would have to guess, I would say that is is a tobacco pipe. :D Sorry about that, I am feeling kind of spunky this morning, and could not help myself. On the serious side, my guess would be that is a basket pipe. Not sure what would cause the purplish coloration you are seeing on the pipe...

How many tins of tobacco do you have

My answer would have to be that I do not have enough. Always need more. :o

    New Tobacco Taxes in Effect?!?

What I find entertaining is that you also have to pay and additional $10 for shipping. You would think that spending $4000 for a tin of tobacco would qualify you for free shipping.

What a wonderful trip. Whenever I travel I try to find a local B&M to visit; however, I do not think I have found any as cool as the one above. If I ever get to Kentucky....

    Plug Versus Flake: The Same?

I believe the oxygen hypothesis could be dead on. We know that tobacco will age better if you leave it in a sealed jar or tin, and I would think that a plug could very well have a similar effect on tobacco since the inner portion of the plug would be expose to a much slower cycling of oxygen.
