    I Need a Pipe - I Need Help

I know all about that. I thought I had a bit of money set aside for a large tobacco order and a new pipe; however, Saturday night my truck broke a rear axle so.....

Recommendations for Books, Book Series, Authors

anthonyrosenthal74 I also love the Wheel of Time series. Have you by chance read any of Brandon Sanderson's own series?

Captain Black Grape Is the New Penzance

What, that is hard to believe. :D In all reality grape flavored tobacco sounds horrible (to me), but I do believe that if you enjoy it then smoke it.

    Does summertime mean more dottle?

Living on a high desert means summer temps in the mid 80's to upper 90's with the humidity staying under 15%, so I find that my tobacco burns wonderfully, and as an added bonus, I do not have to set it out to dry for very long.

    Burley Negatives; Why Not Burley?

This is what burley is like for me. I have tried to enjoy it, but after half a bowl I get a very unpleasant greasy sensation that just does not suit me. Also, for whatever reason, burley heavy blends tend to mute my ability to fully taste for a few days. This primarily happens if I smoke more...

    Escudo aged verses fresh

I love Escudo and look forward to trying some with some age on it. What I currently do is purchase a tin or two a month to smoke fresh and a tin to put into the cellar for a much later time. If I keep up my tin or so a month then in five or so years I can begin to smoke the aged tobacco and put...

    Budget cigars

sancho panza double maduro are my favorite cigar and can be had for around $70 for a box of twenty. If I want a very good smoke and are willing to spend more I have really been enjoying the Rocky Patel 20th series. Also, I have always been tempted by the CI knockoff series but have been...

    Last 1/4 bowl not burning???

You are getting some great advice here. The only thing I will add is to remind you to relax and enjoy the smoking experience. You will get this figured out in time, especially when you find the ability to just let your early expectations go, sit back and enjoy each smoking session be what it is...

A Mother Load has fallen Into my lap and I think I need help.....

By my count that is around 230 pipes and many of them look to be in decent shape. What a great find. I can not wait to hear how this works out for you. Happy puffing.

    Powdered flavoring vs wet flavoring...

At first blush a powdered flavoring does not sound appealing; however, I have know way of knowing what would and would not work. I say go for it and let us know how it works.

    Aromatic Vs. Non-Aromatic Tobacco

I guess I will throw my hat into the ring. Like a lot of our brotherhood, I started by smoking aromatic pipe tobacco because it just seemed like it was what pipe tobacco smelled like (as has been stated above). I continued to smoke aromatic tobacco because it is what I knew, and for eight or...

    how to dedicate

I have found, at least for myself, what work best is to have a pipe or two dedicated to an aromatic blend that tends to leave a bit more of a ghost; however, over the last year I have found the desire to change my dedicated pipes. This is primarily as I more fully learn the ends and outs of each...
