Pleasant Surprise @ Local Tobacco Store

That is a nice find with an even better price. Pipe shops are non-existent in rural Oregon and the few tobacco shops that carry pipe tobacco charge a mint a tin.

Just a matter of personal preference.

    Zippo Flint Behaving Weirdly

That is weird. I have several Zippos with no issues at all. I would point you to Warren's post.

    Question about my first smoke.

I hate to say it, but an emptied pipe does not show much. It does appear, with how clean the bottom of the bowl is, that you may have not smoked all the way down to the heel of the pipe. Having said that, you may have smoked your bowlful to the point that no much more tobacco would have burned...

    Smoke dat hole bowl?

If I prepare to much flake, then sometimes I will add the remaining rubbed out flake once I get to half a bowl remaining.

    Flavored Tobacco

Lack of information makes for the best posts. The only way anyone is going to be able to discern the depth of our knowledge is when we are adept enough to discern an OP’s true need by reading between the lines and using our hunches.:LOL::col:

    Flavored Tobacco

If you are not tasting the flavor I would suggest smoking them slower. Aromatic tobacco can be difficult if you are new to pipes smoking because you do not realize just slow your smoking cadence needs to be. If you pull to hard or to often when smoking a pipe, the heat created will completely...

    Hello from Oregon

+1 to this. I enjoy Rich’s but getting to downtown Portland is such a pain. 82nd has such a nice staff, decent selection or pipes and a good selection of tins. One thing I really enjoy about 82nd is they do not pass bulk tobacco off as their own blend.

    Hello from Oregon

Yes it is, I was just in there a couple of weeks ago. The still have a decent selection of bulk tobacco and a good selection of tinned tobacco. Their pipe selection was a bit smaller than what I am use to.

Does Tea reduce the risks of tabacco pipe smoking?

Yes, the tea world is just like the pipe world. There are a lot of people in the tea world who take the drinking of tea to the level of being a hobby. They search out limited releases, review them, watch youtube videos about them, age them and even argue with each other about which types of tea...

Does Tea reduce the risks of tabacco pipe smoking?

I really wish that tea was not just broken down broadly into green vs black vs oolong. Tea is so much like pipe tobacco in that different teas in one category can have such a range of flavors. Taking green tea as an example, the flavors of green tea can range from vegetal and hay like to floral...

    My first tobacco pipe experience

Yes, I will add a +1 to drying you tobacco. Of course you can dry it too much; however, a little to dry is better, at least for me, to a little to wet.

    Orlik Golden Sliced

When I looked at SPC, it shows me that Orlik is currently out of stock. I also see that P&C only have the 3.5g tins in stock.

    My first tobacco pipe experience

Welcome to the wonderful world of pipe smoking. As stated above, it does take some time to get the hang of pipe smoking. I encourage you to keep at it because it is such an amazing hobby where you will find flavors you can only dream of now, you will learn that pipes smoking is often found time...
