    ID This Logo?

I'm guessing it's a Whitehall Red Dot pipe. I've got a bulldog with that same logo. Link ----> Red Dot There's a connection between Mastercraft and Dr Grabow with these pipes. I'll stick with that until we get an more educated answer. :-)

Dr. Grabow Viking and Yello-Bole Checker (pic heavy)

You'll get some good smokes out of those after you get them cleaned up. That metal filter will pull right out of the Yello-Bole stem so you can give it thorough cleaning. I've got two Checkers and that is the correct stem for the pipe.

Show Off Your Savinelli Pipe Here!

Just got my Bing's Favorite in the mail today and already smoked a half bowl of Blend No 5 in it. Seems to be a very nicely balanced, comfortable pipe.

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

Both are beautiful pipes! Something about the sharp heel and the upswept rim on the Viscount I like a lot.

    Taking out the filter?

Now that you've got the removable stinger out you can clean it properly. It's just like any other piece of equipment. Keep it clean dry and serviceable and it won't give you any problems. Does it provide for a cooler smoke? No, i don't think so. But one thing stingers do is keep small particles...

    Smoking around computers

If you're building your own computer it really pays to get a case with cleanable intake filters. I've blown clouds of dust a little like that out of some friend's computers who don't even smoke. I have seen yellowish nicotine/tar coated motherboards from those who did though. Nasty, and a good...

    I made a.... Bulldog?

I think the cooling fins would provide for a cool smoke! Kind of reminds me of a Caterpillar though. Unique!

    Please help indentify this pipe!

This looks like a prototypical modern pipe from the civil war era, though not so much a Wellington. A google image search does show a lot of Alpine looking bowl shapes and a lot of clay pipes.

    Please help indentify this pipe!

I like Wellingtons so much I have at least four of them so I always have one in the rotation. They come in jumbo, medium and small sizes. I believe they were produced until fairly recently. (1980s?) They older ones seems to be of better briar quality. they maybe a copy of the Peterson system...

    Remove oxidation from vulcanite stem

I've tried just about everything at this point, and there is no substitute for wet/dry sandpaper, micromesh pads and white diamond buffing compound. Whatever you end up using, you will need a lot of patience if the oxidation is deep.

    Savinelli Clark's Smooth

I've go the rusticated version and like it a lot. It's a very nice sipping pipe for sitting down with a good book or magazine. I've also got a Bing's Favorite coming on on Friday. Looking forward to smoking that one too.

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

Squeezed in one more Grabow refurb before the end of the weekend. Here's what I think is a sharp looking Viscount. I like the triangular shank.

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

I just finished refurbishing this Dr Grabow Westbrook. I'm not sure of the shape number. I checked the charts and couldn't quite find a match. It must be Continental shape though....

WDC Estate Fraternity Pipe - Phi Kappa Alpha

I finally got the Seville in order this afternoon. I think a good cleaning was all that was needed.

    Show Off Your Barlings Here

I picked up this big Barling "Garnet Grain" at a Spokane B&M last weekend. The proprietor told me he thought it was a 1962 transition model. It is a bit worn, but I like the size, about 6 1/4" long. I've been wanting a Barling in my collection for a long time and finally have one!

    Mississippi River Pipe Tobacco

I've just been out in the shop smoking Mississippi River. It's sweet stuff, but a little mild for my taste. Might be good especially good for someone interested in branching out from aromatic blends.

    Boycott List

I was in Spokane last weekend in the crappiest part of downtown and saw signs that said, "No smoking with 25 feet buildings". That would have put me right in the middle of the street.

    A fresh look at bryoln....

If I had to declare a favorite Brylon, it would be this Medico Onyx. It smokes just fine.
