Do You Have an Aversion to Bulldogs?

The bulldog and Rhodesian are shapes that I do like, but whenever I am on the hunt for a pipe, they are not the shapes or forms which make me want to lay out the cash; in the last decade or so, it seems to be billiard-variants for which I pay. Still I do have a few that I have had for many...

Wow! That's such an awful looking pipe; I will offer to relieve you of such an eyesore... Just PM me @bluegrassbrian and I will tell you the address to which you can send it -- I'll even cover the post! I know, I know it is big-hearted of me, but we must all make efforts to help out other forum...

Nice pipe and tobacco...and a killer iron beard you got there! My morning started with a bowl of Big & Burley in a 1957 shell briar billiard.

    Pipe Shapes

I’m with @Sig on this. Straight and bent are attractive to me. No question now that I tend toward billiards and that shape’s derivatives, especially dublins, canadians and lovats. Here’s my pipe drawer: For me the issue is weight. I can handle a slightly heavier bent but a straight stemmed...

    Fishing With Your Pipes

I love to fly fish in my local rivers and i tie my own flies, too. They are all fly only, so I avoid the stinky hands associated with cutting up baits. These things don’t stink👍🏻

The afternoon bowl of Rattray's Stirling Flake in what I think is a 1978 Shell Briar 21051 Dublin; this little pipe:> Perhaps one of you can make out the date stamp better than my poor eyes? My son thinks it is 18; another saw it as 11 -- but according to pipe-phil.eu, the four/five digit...

    Preference: Rubbed or Doubled?

Folded flakes but not too tightly -- I allow for a bit of flake swelling as it smokes. I find it is less messy and more tasty to fold :)

    Canadian Style Pro And Con

I love my Canadians, as they are a specific type of billiard, and that is my favourite shape in general. Also it's round shanked brother, the Liverpool, appeals to me. I just picked up a Canadian, a 1960 shell briar EC, that I plan to resuscitate.

Mixed Navy Flake and Old Dark Fired

I’m glad you enjoy it. I do enjoy mixing 1/2 flake of ODF or BK with a burley flake or a VA myself. The great thing is we live in a relatively free society where this is legal 🤘🏻

Surviving On Five Brothers Pipe Tobacco!

hahaha now that makes me really feel less extravagant that I have a fondness for OJK ;)

Surviving On Five Brothers Pipe Tobacco!

I wish I preferred five bros over OJK; there'd be savings in that preference.... Alas, I don't :) Even so, I do like five brothers. Perhaps my fave OTC tobacco?!

How Often do you Really Need to Clean your Pipe?

Interested to learn this method. I have read of this years ago by @sablebrush52 and the moderator @j*** . What's the procedure and water temperature you use?
