Is this Dunhill fake?
Yes, I would guess the same casualties of that are the top right side of the "D" in England, the bowl size number and the finish letter, which is almost entirely erased? Not meticulous refurbish work... or just too rough with a buff :) -

This is a difficult conundrum; I'd get around it by grabbing my pipe drawer which holds my 21 favourite in use pipes! I like all of those pipes so much that my 'favourite' is whichever one I am smoking :) Which, right now is .... this bad boy tanshell ----> -

Dunhill 1971 Shell Briar 5-digit Stamp Question
Thanks for the reply about the date stamp which Steve Laug and I thought was an "11"; when I put it under a 6x loop, my son and I were able to see it is really a deformed "6".
