It can become a serious game of 200+ pick-up ... destroy my happy contemplative time :) BTW that stem on your pipe is looking delicious, almost like a candy ;)
Now smoking some Kendal Kentucky in a Comoy's Pre-1980 Grand-Slam Pot===>
I was going to add Semois, Stirling Flake, HH Bold Kentucky or Kendall Kentucky. But others have already recommended them. Easily obtained is GLP Jack Knife Plug...super tasty.
Started today with a coffee and a bowl of Doblone d'Oro in a lovely old 1961 group 4 shell briar 252 billiard that I recently found. I love how coolly this pipe smokes...
No @telescopes I think you are rocking life with those badass sunshades… so much so i think you could be mistaken for having just walked off the set of The Sopranos 🤘🏻
Now smoking a black rusticated canadian, another long shanked older cavicchi, with a flake of HH burley flake and one flake of Rattray’s stirling flake… a serious yum 😉
Early evening smoke with a bowl of Doblone d'Oro in my new 2 week old Castello Sea.Rock Billiard LS (KKKK). I love the aggressive rusticated finish on these sea rocks...

Today started with a coffee and a bowl of Mac Baren’s dark twist in a 252 dunhill tanshell from 1961:

I think I am headed in your direction if you mean 40g and less straight pipes; in addition to clenching, another great thing about straight pipes is the ease of maintenance and how smoothly they will pass a cleaner.
Ended the day working with my son routering table legs while smoking a bowl of John Patton's Storm Front in a 1961 252 Shell Briar Billiard... A great smoker.
