    The whole thing sounds like a temper tantrum. It's silly. Unless it is another cigar (similar in kind), it's just frivolous. All 3 parts of these names (Magnum, Opus, X) are so ubiquitous it would turn the tables on just about anything.

    Interesting. Well, sounds like the blend itself is safe which is what matters most. Though I do kind of miss the 'opus' even though I was never that fond of the name, overall.

    So I was browsing the H&H line and noticed Magnum Opus dropped the Opus in the name. When did this happen? And, more importantly, did the blend change? I know Russ used to be on these boards. Not sure if that is still the case. This is one of my favorite blends so when I saw it, I got concerned.

    Yeah, that's the story as I know it. I still have a couple tins of HH Vintage Syrian. That was a good blend. I was concerned there was a similar fate of Cyprian on the horizon.

    Thanks for all the recommendations! I ordered: 1 8oz tin of Westminster, 2 2oz tins of Quiet Nights (P&C was out of the 8oz), 1 8oz tin of Meridian, 8oz Black House, 8oz Magnum Opus, 2 1.5oz tins of Larry's Blend (they were out of 8oz; almost went bulk, but saved money for some others to try)...
