    No Taste

Have you possibly been smoking too much? I find that if I over-do my smoking, I stop tasting the tobacco as well. If I leave it and don't smoke anything for a few days, the first bowl is delicious. Also ... are your pipes well-rested and well-cleaned? That really does make a difference.

    I Just had a Pipe-smoking Revelation ...

Title edited. Capitals! I was browsing through this page as it's Saturday morning and just sipping some coffee.. https://www.alpascia.com/moments/en/detail/23/tips-for-new-pipe-smokers ... it's actually a site sponsor and I would highly recommend checking out their site if you have not...

    Tongue Bite Progress Update

I will add to this thread - as a follow tongue-bite sufferer - that using a Peterson P-Lip pipe has made a huge difference. It hasn't fixed everything ... the top of my mouth gets irritated now ... but I don't get tongue bite at least when smoking through that pipe.

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

No ... I don't think I've ever tried pairing warm water with anything at all. Strange kiwis. ;) I'll give it a shot, thanks for the tip.

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

Funny and confusing and irrelevant fact … in Sweden they call anchovies (those salty, oily fish you put in pizza) “Sardeller” (like my profile pic) which translates to “sardines” and they call what-we-call “sardines” (the tinned fish you put on toast with vinegar) “anchovies”. has caused me to...

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

I thought I did put my location? Stockholm, Sweden in case there’s a misunderstanding.

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

Well it’s hardly a “visit” … or a least it’s a very long one. I live and work and pay taxes here now with a Swedish girl.

    Cellaring tobacco - questions

Thanks for all the replies guys. I read each one word for word and have no real comment to make but I appreciate your time in replying. Lots of good knowledge.

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

Hahaha. Very funny. I love Australia (and the mighty Wallabies), but I love Sweden too. It's nice to travel.

    Cellaring tobacco - questions

Hey guys, A few noob questions on storing tobacco: 1 - I've seen multiple times guys suggest to cellar your tobacco in a mason jar or whatever for a few weeks before smoking it. What's going on here? Hasn't the tobacco been "cellared" on the shelf in the tobacconist for probably a lot longer...

    Hello from Sweden, via Australia

Hello folks, I'm originally from The Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia but currently living and working in Stockholm, Sweden. I've tried smoking pipes on-and-off for the past ten-or-so years. Previously I was looking for a replacement for cigars (too expensive & too smelly) and now I'm looking for...

    Suggestions for English Blends

I can't quite say for sure. I just find that I keep reaching for that for whatever reason. The first few bowls I smoked of it were transformative. I thought it was, by some way, the most delicious pipe tobacco I'd ever smoked. I thought I'd found something truly amazing. Unfortunately, for...

    Suggestions for English Blends

I think that's about right in my opinion as well.

    Suggestions for English Blends

Squadron Leader is worth a crack imo. I have a few English blends now I'm rotating, including Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap. But I keep going back to the Squadron Leader.

Denicotea (denicool) - 9mm Filters - For Pipes?

I bought them online, but I can't read the instructions (I bought them from Germany but don't speak German) ... and I'm a bit worried they maybe filters for something else (a vaporizer, cigarette holder or something, I dunno) and that if put one of these plastic-looking things in my pipe it will...

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

That’s pretty much the conclusion I came to in my other thread about Alcohol & tongue bite. I really hope I can find “a way” because I’ve invested a lot in this over the years. if it’s just my personal body chemistry then shit. What can I do? At least if it was heat bite I could learn to...

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

I wish I knew that before I bought a selection heavy on "Mac Bite". Haha. :) I just figured they were reputable so, meh. Can't be horrible.
