    Peterson's pipe shop in NYC had nothing to do with the Irish Petes except they sold them. The owner of Peterson pipe shops was named Silverman. I worked there as a teenager in the 1950s.

    You can save money by putting these a little above the bottom of the bowl. That way if you do not smoke the dottle, you do not pay for it. Amazon has them much cheaper than pipe shops.

    I love them. A great smoke, light between the teeth and they are beautiful. There IS one problem though. You cannot get a cleaner through without removing the stem. That makes them gurglers.
