The Van Gogh Smokes a Peterson thread had quite a bit of interest. If anyone is interested "Lust for Life" starring Kirk Douglas is on tonight on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Van Gogh Movie...check your local listings. ::
I've never seen it...I have the DVR set to record.

Saw it in the 60's, cannot recommend it. Surprised to see the "data" in rotten tomatoes.com

Finally watched it this afternoon. Not terrible, not great...watchable for all of the pipe smoking. Kirk Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Anthony Quinn won Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Would I watch it again? Probably not.

Just watched Defoe on Amazon Streaming play Van Gough, very credible job, wife and I enjoyed it.

"At Eternity's Gate"

From what I've seen (pictures), Defoe portrays Van Gogh pretty good. I'm going to have to watch it...looks good.
