    Anthology

That's interesting news, and too bad about C&D Red Flake being discontinued. C&D flakes without perique have their own special charms.

    Chacom #4, Where Art Thou?

My review: Its a nice pleasant VaPer with a fruity top note, and it burns very nicely for a flake.

    Predicting The Future

"Seriously? The mess we've gotten ourselves into is the result of the already transition to big government and world order and certainly the antithesis of traditional views and faiths." Really? The rot began setting in many many years ago, during the age of traditional views and faiths. At...

    Predicting The Future

"...S.H. isn't an imaginary concern, it is a full blown religion designed to proselytize today's youth and adults away from traditional values of family and faith and toward an allegiance to big government and a world order that is the antithesis traditional views and faiths." Sounds like it's...

    Am I The Only One?

Yes, every smoke, takes less than 5 minutes, and I've never had to deep-clean a pipe.

Who has Smoked Cornell and Diehl Anthology 1992-2022?

Judging from recent C&D limited releases, its going to be very very good. After the high bar set by the last Carolina Red limited release, they wouldn't want to disappoint. Shane was obviously blown away by this blend on the recent Youtube video, which is something you don't see very often...

    Moisture On Outside Bowl Bottom

I've always thought birds eyes were tubes that contain moisture, caught in cross section. Kind of like blood vessels. But according to Wikipedia, it is not known what causes this phenomenon.

    Pipes, cigarettes, and nicotine

I agree that the numbers are probably inaccurate, and reflect antismoking bias.

    Pipes, cigarettes, and nicotine

The FDA recently proposed lowering the nicotine content in cigarettes, claiming that nicotine is the addictive element. This comes from todays New York Times: The fact is that most smokers want to quit. For all the industry’s insistence that cigarettes are an emblem of individuality, nearly 70...

    Nicotine and Addiction

Here is The American Society of Addiction Medicine's definition of addiction: "Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage...

    Severe Oxidation- Live With It?

Thanks for that. I tried multiple appliciations of the Brebbia stem polish, but I saw no real effect.

    Severe Oxidation- Live With It?

Could I trouble you for a summary of how you did it?

    Severe Oxidation- Live With It?

Impressive. Did you do the work yourself?

    Severe Oxidation- Live With It?

Please capitalize titles per rule 9. It's easy.-jpm I recently purchased an unsmoked Dunhill 1920's era pipe, with deep green oxidation of the stem. I will not be smoking this pipe. I'd send it off for restoration, but I wouldn't want to have the button and overall shaping compromised due to...

    Nicotine and Addiction

Maybe the physical component varies a lot from individual to individual. I think the non-physical component is underestimated. I suspect the situation with cigarettes is much different- much more of a physical component.

    Nicotine and Addiction

When I got Covid, I abruptly stopped smoking. There was not a trace of craving or any physical sign of withdrawal that I could detect. So how addictive is nicotine anyway?

    Removing Carbon Buildup on Rim

Even if you don't overfill, it depends to some extent on your smoking method. If you exhale a lot through the bowl (breath method) there will always be a buildup of carbon on the rim.

    Paragon Wax Test

I use about 1% of that amount. One thing to avoid is applying it to the stamping/nomenclature on the shank. It turns white and is difficult to remove.
