Now available: Missouri Meerschaum Cob Cigars

Well mine arrived. It is stained orange. Which makes it look like a carrot. It's a little over 5 inches long. I'm planning to smoke it this afternoon.

Marking the passing of the tobacco world as we knew it

I picked up 5 oz. of my favorite house blend to celebrate. I've actually almost hit all of my cellar goals. I've been telling my non forum buddies that they need to stock up. I hope they heed the advice.

    Eureka! A revelation!

This was one of the first flakes that I tried. I did a trade with Harris back in the day and he sent me a sample of this and some others. I instantly fell in love. Thankfully that was before many of the great flakes started getting harder to get. I've got about 30 tins aging in the cellar. And...

A Different Issue from Tongue Bite

    Rehydrating a Horde Of Tobacco

Here are some pics of what is happening. The Four Square is ready to smoke. The Black Friar is close. The Mahogany is coming along, but the thicker flakes are going to take a bit longer. You can see from the crumble that it is regaining its color. The Sam's Flake is getting its first dose today...

    Rehydrating a Horde Of Tobacco

Harris, these are all from the mid 90's. But the CVP and the F&G Brown flake are in a smaller tin than is produced right now. The labeling looks the same on the F&T tobaccos. There was a full tin of the CVP and about a tin and half of the Three Nuns. The Black friar had about 2 bowls left in it...

    Where to buy Creme Brûlée

Ok so come to find out that a house blend at one of the shops is actually just Creme Brûlée produced by Scandanavian Tobacco Group. Anyone know where I can buy this in bulk or if it is called something else?

    Rehydrating a Horde Of Tobacco

Thanks Harris. I have 7 jars going as we speak. Three Nuns, Mahogany Flake, Cut Virginia Plug, Black Friar, Four Square, Three Castles, and a blend called Orion's Arrow which my friend here created.

    Rehydrating a Horde Of Tobacco

I rehydrated a 14oz can of Revelation. It did really well. And I have done others. Many of these are flakes. I'm interested to see how they do. I'll post some pics as I progress.

    Rehydrating a Horde Of Tobacco

Yes all are opened. There were probably 60 more at his house in the same condition. Mostly flakes. They won't be as good as if they had been jarred but I'm hopeful to resurrect them. Doing Three Nuns, Black Friar, and Four Square first and maybe a couple of others.

    Nashville Pipe Show Cancelled

Well that sucks. I have been unable to attend any pipe shows this year and planned to come up to Nashville. Maybe they could persuade Uptowns to do something like the Briary event. Showcase 1 or 2 carvers in the shop and have a slow smoke contest. I would come up for that.

    Why Savinelli?

This is a good point. I think Savinelli gets recommended a lot because they make some very gorgeous pipes for a reasonable price. Personally I always recommend a Nording. Never had a bad smoking Nording and they also look nice.
