Graphite is a good lubricant without the drawbacks of oils or waxes, which tend to change in consistency over time, and become sticky. Also first choice to lubricate any locks or hinges.- UB 40

Is This Pipe Drilled Improperly?
Charcoal, Plaster of Paris, salt. But I would leave it as is, better moisture in the bowl than gurgling upwards. -

Thanks for that, got it in a junk shop for a few bucks. A 1970s pipe. The former owner allowed to build some cake. To much for my liking I scraped most of it out with a pipe nail. M Peterson Mixture 965, one of the Dunhill remakes did the job for me. I am smoking Virginias as well as Latakia And no Bothy flake is just a whiskey aromatic, with a hint of Latakia. In my view it’s not a typical English blend.- UB 40
