    Favorite Historical Fiction?

Another brilliant work of historical literature takes a look into the 1960s and those experiments with LSD. It’s T. C. Boyles “Outside looking in”.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2023?***

Yeah smoke rings or squares, triangles. Is anyone out there gotten diving deeper in the science of blowing smoke rings?

    Favorite Historical Fiction?

Historical Literature most of the time is really trashy, tacky stuff, no I don’t like it. But then I remembered a real master of the genre: Per Olov Enquist and his marvellous and deep “The Book About Blanche and Marie” where he dives into the fascinatingly complex relationship between two of...

Two Questions About the Manufacturing of Meer-Lined Briars.

I found something on reborn pipes, that is similar to @rustiepyles saying: “Was the Meer-lining a result of compacted or pressed Meerschaum that was formed to the chamber or was it a cut piece of Meerschaum that was inserted as a separate piece? Pocket Cameras

You do almost the same as I do. The magic and obsession I felt ended all with digital imaging, Now it’s more just to get the job done right, as fast as possible. Ok it opened up endless possibilities especially when it comes to available light photography, but still I don’t enjoy the hours...

    Pocket Cameras

The Rollei Sonnar 2.8/40 mm Lens is stunning. It’s so tiny because it’s a fix focal length and all functions like focussing or setting the aperture is done by hand. And it had to fit into the concept of one of the most tiniest 35mm cameras ever built. When it comes to Leica we are talking about...

Cibachrome was unbeaten. Sad it’s not done any more.

What makes you guys think,” that you “loose light” using a crop on a full frame sensor, if I understand the topic correctly? Same lens, same aperture, same focal distance, you just loose a certain amount pixel.

PLS HELP! Is this normal to happen inside the bowl?

Just smoke it! A carbon layer will build up while smoking. And of course you can wipe the inside of the bowl as you used to do. You don’t need a thick cake to build up.
